Yes, al-d, I am quite loved today. God loves me; my girlfriend loves me, and even the customer sales rep loves me. Now, if I can only find my wretched cat, who escaped through a hole in the porch screen. So much for keeping him in around Halloween. He's been gone for four days now. I think that he loves mice more than he loves me.

I'd love to focus on all this love, Al, but I can't stop scratchin' my ears.

Al-d:

who are we?? From your previous posts I presume that "we" includes the ducks. Do you think that they have spirits and souls?

Just wondered.

Best wishes,,,,

Z

Hey al, that's great news -- congratulations!!

I do have a question on what you originally posted. Since I first read this thread, I've been trying to figure out what the difference between 'spirit' and 'soul' might be. What's the difference to you?

"in the spirit, there is no evil"

al-

that kinda tripped me up, too. didn't you mean to capitalize the S???

HI FLORA, yes SPIRIT should be capitilized!! if we could stay in the spirit we would be MATURE!! st. paul SAID walk IN SPIRIT-& be victorious!! hmmm, JESUS said his word is spirit & life!! the problem is in the soulish realm-[emotions] mind, will.thought,s. GOD IS SPIRIT OF PURE LOVE!! we must learn to walk in love!! we are GREATLY-LOVED so we can share love!! *case in point=the vegas meeting-you guy,s enjoyed each other, we we,re created to be like our FATHER, love kids!! we CAN grow in love!! IF our focus is on the LOVER of our souls!! spiritual MATURITY comes by learning to let SPIRIT control -soul!! not being affected by circumstances!! it,s an IDENTITY-THING!!

ISA interrupts are edge-triggered. This means when the device signals an interrupt, its interrupt line transitions from high to low (typically). In general, it's the responsibility of the interrupt handler code to tell the device "OK, I got it, you can let go of that interrupt line now", at which time it goes back high to wait for the next event.

However, one side-effect of this approach is that two devices cannot effectively share the same interrupt line. If the second device tries to drive a line low that's *already* low, there is no transition. No transition means the system has no way to know anything happened, so the second device's requirements go unnoticed. Bummer.

So the PCI bus supports level-triggered interrupts. These interrupt lines are clocked. If the line is low when the clock ticks, an interrupt is generated. If the line is *still* low when the clock ticks again, another interrupt is generated. So if the first device releases this line, the second device is serviced, as are all subsequent devices until *all* of them release the line, so that it can go back high and no more interrupts are generated.

Flint are you reading out of your Networking Essentials book?

-- cin (cin@=0.)), October 20, 2000.

Networking isn't really relevant. The bus architecture is what counts.
