Everton

As it's a bit slow on here today, what about an early pre-match chat.

The Everton team that faced Southampton last weekend and drew 1-1.

Gerrard, S. Watson, Weir, Nyarko, Campbell, Pembridge (S. Hughes 63 mins), Ball, Dunne, Gravesen, Gascoigne, M. Hughes (Moore 45 mins). Subs Not Used: Unsworth, Simonsen, Gemmill.

Dunne has been transferred to Man City, leaving David Weir as the only recognisable Centre Back in that team. I'd expect Unsworth to replace him.

I reckon we ought to win this one.

Campbell usually plays well against us and we need to get to grips with him. Hughes will be his usual narky, nasty, bitchy, whinging self.
Surprisingly, the real danger to us could come from Gazza if he's on his game - God, it would be embarrassing if he turned us over.
Can't see it, and I reckon well win fairly comfortably, 3-1.

Mark Lawrenson reckons a win for us!

Newcastle v Everton

Newcastle had a great win at Middlesbrough last Monday and I thought that was their best performance of the season.

They changed their system and it worked to perfection for them.

Everton on the other hand don't seem to know where their next win is coming from and I don't think it will arrive this weekend. It is a pity though that Duncan Ferguson isn't fit for this one.

Verdict: I fully expect 52,000 members of the Toon Army to be celebrating a victory.
