Hello everybody

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

Just a short hello. I left ManUreland tonight and have come to Holland for the match. I think I'll support my local team tonight.

Holland eh! Are we to expect your postings to become increasingly irrelevant to any other conversation and then you pop down to the open all night garage for some replenishing!

Hey DB.....nothing new for Screacher there then.

Damn I thought the next posting on here would automatically refer to the other thing some parts of Holland are famous for.

Whatever you do......don't go into a bar and ask for a rum and coke.....you never know what you might end up with!

Actually Ken the Rum in holland is really rather good!

Well - did you watch the match? I did, thanks to the "Good ol' Oirish". Actually, I could have watched it in my room, but that seemed a bit defeatist, and I set off exploring Hamsterjam in search of something to eat, the odd bevvy, and a TV showing the match. The red light district would have to wait for another year. After being turned away from a number (less than 5) restaurants, I happened upon O'Reilly's, a typical European Irish bar. Of course it was too much to expect Bob Wilson, Vegetables or Venners, so it was all worth the effort!

I can't be @rsed to describe the whole game - suffice to say, it was a bit like GNER in Hertfordshire. ManUre started off like a train, and (almost) came off the rails. But at least it wasn't like the West Coast line which is a bit like Virgin on the ridiculous. The first part of today's journey was sublime, once they'd cleared the buffers and they deserved their lead. But like most British railways, their timing started to slip and PSV refused to be shunted into a siding. ManUre were eventually derailed by goods van Bommel. This signalled a response from ManUre and they stocked up their engine with more Cole, fearing Ferguson's Rocket if they didn't win. Eventually PSV ran out of steam and ManUre's CL journey was back on track, with a true museum relic from Yorke. Just the ticket.

Never mind, if they don't qualify, there's always the Inter City fairs cup. Toot Toot - Black 'n'White Army.

Nah - never went anywhere near the red light district Steph. Purely Oirish. Kilkenny - has a nice ring to it, don't you agree??
