I would like to know who the publisher of Poe's story Tell Tale Heart was and if they were male or female.

Patricia,The short story "The Tell-Tale Heart" was first printed in the "Pioneer" in January, 1843. It was reprinted in the "Broadway Journal" in August of 1845 and again in the "Spirit of the Times" also in August of 1845. As to the gender of the publishers, I would guess that they were male since most literary magazines of the period were owned by males. But that doen't make it so! : )
