'cos I couldn't hear a f***in' thing...............

Apart from the MAGnificant support from the Toon Army. Whatsisface on Sky was somewhat gobsmacked by the support. Obviously never been to a Toon Army awayday!

A couple of nice moments - the commentator was saying how the Boro supporters were getting behind their team when all you could hear was Geordie Boot Boys! Then 'hate S*****land' was ringing round the ground and they showed a shot of Monkey Heed. There must have been a screen somewhere cos the crowd started to sing his song! Toon Army were fantastic throughout.

I thought the reason for not hearing the smoggies was being in the middle of the geordie end, but after watching part of the game on video last night , realised that the poor smoggies were very quiet. The only noises they made were when they boooed their team off at half time. They also applauded us singing "bryan robson on the dole". But they were'nt too chuffed with our "Boro stay at home and watch it on the telly". Apparently they made some noise before kick off when a 40 footbanner with Karembau's wifes famous assets , with the slogan 'Wonder Boro' was paraded in one of the stands, but I missed that bit as I had my foot trapped in the turnstile for five minutes at kick off. The stewards were very nice about it and managed to get me out with foot still attached to my lower leg.

I'll pen a brief account of my and loony's eventfull trip to Smoggieland later in the afternoon. It was a brilliant night and my young un attending his first ever away game has got the footy bug. Thankyou NUFC...
