Has anyone ever seen a tv show with Ted Danson, called Becker. There is this really tall girl on it with dark hair, I don't even know her name but she reminds me of Aeon Flux. I honestly think she could play her.

Well, actually the man is right.

Mental picture-David Bowie singing 'Sweet Transvestite' as Aeon Flux...

-- Barb e. (Suesuesbeo9@cs.com), August 24, 2002.

Speaking of Hillary, did you know that Hillary Clinton once claimed to a group of supporters that she was named after Sir Edmund Hillary? Interesting... since he climbed Mt Everest May 29, 1953. Hillary's birthdate is October 26, 1946. Just thought I'd mention that...

-- Barb e. (Suesuesbeo9@cs.com), October 07, 2003.

Sam...what do that mean?

As for the Aeon Flux movie; I just realized there's only one actress with the perfect figure for the part, Fran Drescher! Haaa haaa haaa! oops! gotta work on the voice.

-- Barb e. (Suesuesbeo9@cs.com), October 14, 2003.

Wow, Sam, more than cool! An honor to see a man like that. Didn't realize you lived in New Zealand. Of course the rest of us would be imagining we'd be more likely to run into 'Xena' there. A couple of summers ago I read "Into thin air" and became fascinated with Mt. Everest, a very spooky mountain.

-- Barb e. (Suesuesbeo9@cs.com), October 17, 2003.

Lino Lacedelli and Achille Compagnoni were the first to have summitted K2 in 1954.

I never even considered there might be ghosts on Everest. I wouldn't be surprised. Everest seems to honor certain climbers who make it to the top successfully (otherwise known as half way) by preserving them up there forever.

One of the climbers of Rob Hall's infamous expedition was Yasuko Namba, a Japanese girl who climbed all the Seven Summits. She might be one of the ghosts on Everest.

This is a part from 'Into thin air' that stayed with me for a long time:

"I heard someone yell, 'Don't let me die here!' I tried to get Yasuko on her feet. She grabbed my arm, but she was too weak to get up past her knees. I started walking and dragged her for a step or two. Then her grip loosened and she fell away. I had to keep going. Somebody had to make it to the tents and get help, or everybody was going to die."

Beidleman paused. "But I can't help thinking about Yasuko," he said when he resumed, his voice hushed. "She was so little. I can still feel her fingers sliding across my biceps and then letting go. I never even turned to look back."

I felt really sorry for Yasuko, she didn't even know how to put on her crampons at the lower part of the mountain. She wasn't experienced enough. The expedition didn't seem to mind, she paid her $65,000.00 and she got to go. Hall said he could get anyone to the top of Everest.

Jamie Lee Curtis, although she doesn't usually appeal to me, I think she'd be a good choice.

-- Robert (Robert@aol.com), October 15, 2000.

I wouldn't even watch it if J.L.Curtis was in it, she is too old. I think the perfect choice would be either Sandra Bullock, or Demi Moore. There is quite a few totally unknown actresses however that would suit the role much better than both of the above.

-- Max (mailmaxim@yahoo.com), October 16, 2000.

Carrie-Anne Moss aka "Trinity" from "The Matrix" would be an excellent choice.

Whatever happened to the movie? Is it going ahead?

-- Zipo Bibrok (zipobibrok@my-deja.com), November 08, 2000.

What about Pita Wilson? From La Femme Nikita. but with black hair. yup i could see it..heck what about xena warrior princess? jk

-- Lady Morgan (AeonFluxFan1@aol.com), November 08, 2000.

I beleive that a no name actress should be used because the actresses that you all have mentiond have already been typcast. An original face on the big screen is the much wiser choice. James Cameron and George Lucas would know what I was talking about since a lot of their films are consistent and original even down to the actors (Leonardo Dicaprio is the exception).

-- Richard Nevarez (Seraftrev3000@aol.com), November 11, 2000.

i think carrie anne moss or angelina jolie would be the best choices, they are the one who have "that aeon look" thin yet strong, looks that are meant to kill. they r perfect for the part. I think angelina would be better

-- scarlett (scarlett61083@cs.com), December 27, 2000.

Jamie Lee Curtis gets my vote, I saw her on a commercial tonight, doing some sort of acrobatics. She has a similiar face to Aeon, the hair color, the tall thin athletic build and the kick-ass personality. Imagine my surprise when I recently read that Peter Chungs' personal choice was Famke Janssen. Er, but what can he possibly know about the 'damn thing'... (I wonder, are you begining to feel a little like Selznick, Peter.)

-- Barb e. (Suesuesbeo@aol.com), January 07, 2001.

Of course my first choice is the animated version.

-- Barb e. (Suesuesbeo@aol.com), January 08, 2001.

Sorry-but nobody but Demi Moore in this movie. If you have seen the cartoon, you know what I am talking about. The only reason Peter Chung wouldn't want her is because she might be too expensive. Famke Janssen-NOT! The makers of this film are fools if they at least don't try to get Demi...http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/theultimatedemimoorefanclub

-- Don Smith (demifreak@yahoo.com), February 12, 2001.

From what I understand, she originally offered to do the voice acting for Aeon, and possibly play her in a live action film as well. I guess she was turned down for some reason or another. Personally, I think she lacks something soft that Aeon possesses. Something about Demi comes off as too rough, although that could just be the fact that she tends to play gruff characters lately...

-- Matthew Rebholz (matrebholz@yahoo.com), February 13, 2001.

I am sorry I think Demi and Aeon are in 2 different worlds, I hope they never collide

-- William (stateofflux@yahoo.com), February 13, 2001.

Eaons body proportions are not realistic and to find a woman who looked like her in real life you would need to vist a freak show. I belive that if the movie is to go ahead it should instead be a feature film lenth animation with the eaon we all know and love not some holly wood actor.

-- Gita (happychick94@hotmail.com), March 15, 2001.

Gita, I could not have said it better myself.

-- William (stateofflux@yahoo.com), March 16, 2001.

I just want aeon, even if they could find someone else. I just love the drawings themselves, and of course the voices that are so perfectly suited to them, how can you beat that?

-- Barb e. (Suesuesbeo@aol.com), March 19, 2001.

Why is everyone naming actresses that can't act? Demi Moore is too bulky, now, to play the thin, slinky Aeon. And she's not lippy like Angelina Jolie. Just slip some blue contacts into ANGIE HARMON eyes and your set ! She looks so much like her it's scary. AND she's a good actress.

-- sonia d. davis (soneeuh@qwest.net), June 23, 2001.

cindy craford =oh my god No! jaime lee curtis = if the script was tight maybe, but she is to old. angelina jolie = not to bad but a no name is still better.

Its has to be an unknown actress or it will be extremely distracting to those of us who appreciate the core elements that make up the aeon flux stories.

besides why would you purposly add an element (known actres) from the 20th century hollywood scene when you as a director are trying to lead a room of viewers into a futuristic unknown world of fiction.

-- thomas - 3 (posterboy@mac.com), November 21, 2001.

I wish it could be Grace Jones in witeface or even that hippy babe who did the Tomb Raider movie. Or that tall Kraut strut in Clan Of The Cave Bear or Bridget Nielsen.

-- dangerboy (artian@earthlink.net), November 22, 2001.

Grace Jones in whiteface. What an image! Yeah she'd be great alright but Trevor wouldn't survive the night.

-- Barb e. (Suesuebeo9@cs.com), November 22, 2001.

But I don't really believe it's any good for a pure character abstract such as AEON FLUX to ever be "realized" as a live-action sweetheart.

For to ever cast a Lara Croft; a Cindy Crawford; a Grace Jones - whomever - as the character AEon Flux, would be only to do instead exactly the opposite:You would only have permanently cast AEon Flux as (actress-X)! And thomas 3 is absolutely right.

The Movie absolutely must be an anime affair. If rendered in Live Action as-such, one would only remain with AEon Flux as classically-rendered icon of sexual objectification.

-- dangerboy (artian@earthlink.net), November 24, 2001.

The whole problem as I see it with this is, once you were to render AEon Flux through the use of a human actress as vehicle for flesh-and-blood, physical rendition of this animated, unreal persona, you've destroyed the idea of AEon Flux as a synthetic abstraction. (I think it SUCKS that "S1M0NE" has to be played by a real live human being actor - I've not seen anything but promotional copy and some pictures here or there, but I LOVE IT).

The minute you have a live action movie with an actor playing the part of this formerly pure abstraction AEON FLUX, you would destroy the half of the point. Because - as soon as it were true that "DEMI MOORE IS . . . AEon Flux!!"; or that "DAVID BOWIE IS . . . AEon Flux!!" - then AEon Flux as absolute synthetic ideation is game-over. Because then, of course, now AEon Flux IS Demi Moore; etc., whatever....

-- dangerboy (artian@charter.net), August 20, 2002.

The remarkable trick of the tail SOS here has always been AEon's inherent impossibility to ever hope to render her as a "real" "person" - like S1M0NE or ZiggyStardust, the hero were tangible to us only through her own fictivity as a pure vehicle of projection/transference; identification with AEon Flux or any of these are necessarily, fatally delimited from us, denied us beyond the hermetic sphere of what must be their own permanent status as Abstractions of Desire rather than Objects - and this is their revenge of The Object and theirs alone for all these reasons.

To "Realize" AEon, therefore, through any vehicle other than that of her own as evudenced as such to-date would result not in something like some greater realization of AEon Flux as ideation or as personality, but rather merely in something utterly its diametric opposite! We would only create her to be exactly less "real" were we to render her character cast, no matter as whom should ever seize to presume any physical flesh and blood live action portrayal of her.

-- dangerboy (artian@charter.net), August 21, 2002.

And again, point.

-- Sam (janecherrington@paradise.net.nz), August 21, 2002.

With the state of the art of computer graphics today, it is entirely possible to create animated characters that look real. So to please both camps, they could make a CG Aeon that looks like a real women, but without having the problem of any real actress's persona being projected over and superceding the Aeon character. Now, why you would want to do this is beyond me, but I'd still watch it if somebody did it.

-- Logo (Vosepherus@aol.com), August 24, 2002.

Yeah, I'd watch a computer-rendered Aeon. The only problem with CG is that so much attention is lavished on the visual end, the studio basically says "hey, we don't need a good story, it's CG!" and bangs out a quickie script to accomodate the visual effects. Then you get your Ice Ages, your Shreks, your Final Fantasies, your Dinosaurs...

-- Inu (paul@nadisrec.com), August 24, 2002.

Simone looks promising. The premise (guy creates alter ego, falls for alter ego) reminds me of a rather philosophically-minded chick flick I caught on HBO: Virtual Sexuality. A bad movie that, by the second half, turned damn good.

-- Inu (paul@nadisrec.com), August 24, 2002.

Dangerboy said:

"DAVID BOWIE IS... AEon Flux!"

Aargh! What a mental image! Bowie in skintight black leather drag as Aeon. The horror...

He'd probably DO it, too 0_o

-- Inu (paul@nadisrec.com), August 24, 2002.

I think a perfect choice for Aeon would be Milla Jovovich. She has already proven her ability to kick ass i.e. the fifth element, Residnt Evil. Yet while doing so retains a fragility that Aeon has lying underneath.I think she's a good match

-- Michelle N. (girlinlandscape@aol.com), August 22, 2003.

I would suggest Hillary Clinton ...

-- Ugo Bergstein (berg@ugo.com), September 02, 2003.

Nah, Kelly Osbourne is the one, I tell you!

No no, it has to be the Olsen twins, then they could fully do, A Last Time For Everything type thing!!

-- Sam G (janecherrington@paradise.net.nz), September 02, 2003.

People, the ideal actress for Aeon Flux is COURTNEY COX!!!COURTNEY COX!!!COURTNEY COX!!! Not only is she not 100% hollywood typecast and recognizable BUT! 1)HAIR - is the same color, only needs a jar of gel per shoot. 2)FACE and FORM are practically the same without ANY change - thin, in shape, angular, same age range of 25-35, voice is sharp and clear like Denise Poirers (would merge their voices or voice over...something) I think even eye color is same, and other than a tan all she needs is that chastity belt and midnight purple jacket getup. Dont forget a pushup bra, but Hollywood would not forget to add a big bust.

-- Brandon Johnson (publishing@artist-circle.com), October 02, 2003.

This is becoming disturbing. Can we find an agreement that Roseanne Barr would NOT be the perfect Aeon. I'd also strongly recommend to add Julia Roberts, Jodie Foster and Halle Berry to this list. And, well, just in case: Spare me Pierce Brosnan as Trevor, Zenith or whatever.

-- Gobo (gobo@peccadillos.net), October 04, 2003.

I don't know, I think there are some good points in here... but when it comes down to it, NO ONE would be good for Aeon when it comes to looks, I mean, doesn't anyone realize that all the characters in Aeon Flux are skinny beyond comprehension!?! I don't think that looks should apply to whoever would play Aeon, so much as the ATTITUDE. So there are my thoughts. Too bad the movie will never be made, this is sort of a pointless thread, damn.

-- Max W (antiflarm@hotmail.com), October 06, 2003.

I've seen him round, and his face is on our five dollar note.

-- Sam (janecherrington@paradise.net.nz), October 08, 2003.

I saw Sir Edmund Hillary walking around town, quite a while ago. And you can find his face on the New Zealand Five. On the other side is a Hoiho Penguin. Cool huh?

-- Sam (janecherrington@paradise.net.nz), October 17, 2003.

Yeah, if ghosts are real I'm sure Everest is very haunted.

K2 is supposed to be the hardest mountain to climb though, right? I wonder who did that first?
