What's your favorite part of autumn?

Do you like the leaves? The cooler weather? Apple cider? Halloween? Or don't you like it at all?

I love the smells and sights. In this part of California we don't get much in the way of leaf-changing (sigh), but the fog starts to roll in, and it's started to get a bit damp. The air always smells so amazing after a night rain.

Fall brings mulled cider and the beginning of holiday baking and all my favorite foods and spices and times of year. I can even put up with the rain just for all that.

I like walking in the woods on a nice cool autumn day and seeing nice big deer like the one I saw this weekend up by King's College. Big deer! With antlers! Yay!

Harvest.

Okay, so I'm a farmer at heart. I actually like snatching weekends away from my life to help out my parents during the fall when I can. Sitting on a massive combine for ten hours a day is evidently my idea of fun. Well, occaisionally. :)

Fall has always been my favorite season. It's a transition season; you can almost taste the sense of change in the air. The odd weather is neat--Indian summer one day, thirty degree frosts the next. For practice, Atara, that's about -1 Celsius. :)
