Metaphors in Ligea

greenspun.com : LUSENET : The Work of Edgar Allan Poe : One Thread

I recently read Ligea and didn't fully understand it. I can see that there are many implied metaphors, but am not sure as to what they are and what they mean. Could anybody help?

Molly,

I have sent a response via e-mail regarding "Ligeia" that I had provided earlier. There is also an essay available by David Grantz at the Poe Decoder site at: http://www.poedecoder.com/essays/eagle/

It is an excellent essay titled "The Sticken Eagle: Women in Poe". I encourage you to read it.

Regards,
