Bronica 120 back or inserts?greenspun.com : LUSENET : Camera Equipment : One Thread |
As a new owner of an ETRSi system, I am confused a bit by the prospect of purchasing backs or just inserts. I have 2 complete 120 EI backs now.
- If I want to reload the same film quickly I should buy inserts, correct?
- If I want to change film speed or type I need to switch backs, correct?
Please shoot me (in the leg, please) if I am on the wrong track here.

One difference is that backs can be swapped halfway through a film, while with inserts you would loose the remaining shots. The other difference is that inserts by themselves are more vulnerable than backs, both with respect to mechanical impact etc.. as well as with dirt getting into things. You'll need a proper container to keep them in anyway..

Peter, Do you have a container in mind to keep inserts in? I would be concerned about keeping the inserts free of dirt and damage. Thanks.
