I downloaded a 'free' game from the MSN website and now everytime I open up Internet Explorer I get another window opening with a link to their advertising website.I have tried re-installing IE 5.5 but it is still there. Any clues as to how to get rid of it?

Did you remove the original IE5.5 before re-installing ? Might be worth a try if you didn't.

You could try going into tools and internet options and resetting your internet options to default. Also have a look and make sure they haven't just changed your default opening page to their website. If you need a copy of IE5 on CD just buy any pc mag with a disc attached. Just about all of them have IE and Netscape on them.Good luck!

Interestingly enough I have managed to get rid of the advertisments from the pop up window, due to some reg-editing but the window still opens up and does so with annoying regularity, so its not just connected to my home page. Weird!
