London Mags - Boro meet up threadgreenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread |
Yo homies, how's it hanging?Right....Sting and I are gonna go to Evergreens on monday evening to watch the smogmonster match and we would cordially like to invite anyone who fancies it to join us for this joyous alcoholic experience...
now I know it's a bit of a trek for some of ya and you'd already kinda made plans (Bobby, Ken and Scratchy!) but i'd really like to beg you to reconsider and join us in a more central location that will allow more of your brethren (us lot!) to get together....
howay man lads....tellus yer'll come?
How's this for a deal....I'll buy everyone that turns up a pint....can't say fairer than that can I.....
-- Anonymous, October 12, 2000
Could be a cheap round Gav : - ))
-- Anonymous, October 12, 2000
Gav? buying drinks? f'ing hell!I'll be there.....
;))
-- Anonymous, October 12, 2000
Hmmm it might well be.....but then again maybe they just need a chance to see the thread, I imagine that they probably work (unlike us!) :))Come on you lot, it's the first PROPER football match for weeks....we've got to celebrate it in style!! :))
-- Anonymous, October 12, 2000
Go on then ill buy the second round ; - ) Howay lads n lasses lets get together all of wor for the first time this season .
-- Anonymous, October 12, 2000
Too far to come even for two free drinks ;-)
-- Anonymous, October 12, 2000
Im sure Mr Herron could arrange more than 2 free drinks if you made the journey down ; - )
-- Anonymous, October 12, 2000
My reputation preceedes me I see....Howay Bobby....2 free pints.....that's a night out for you ;))
-- Anonymous, October 12, 2000
I've considered this. For me it's either:A. Drive to work, do work, drive home, cook some nice tea for me and her, walk 5 mins to pub, drink, watch us win, walk 5 mins home
or
B. Get up earlier, get tube to Baker Street, change lines, get tube back out to near work, walk 15 mins to work, work, walk back to station, fast food for tea, get into Covent Gdn, drink, watch us win, leave early to get last tube home and either walk 30 mins uphill, or taxi home at about 12.30am.
Not even a close thing
Sorry, lads. Weekend might be a different case, but A is more attractive than either of you pair ;-)

-- Anonymous, October 12, 2000
You two could make the same offer and come and join Bobby, Andy, Bill and me in the PoW!
-- Anonymous, October 12, 2000
Bobby, I'm really disappointed mate :(( it's not that often we get a chance to get a load of people and then you go and pull out because you can't be bothered to make a little bit of effort....Pewr man......very pewr....
Right who else has got a crap excuse and who's really man(or woman) enough to make it along?
-- Anonymous, October 12, 2000
I wasn't just thinking of the 5 of us though....was trying to appeal to a much broader audience!
-- Anonymous, October 12, 2000
I don't know what you are implying Sting......I wear the trousers in our house.........and wor lass say's its OK for me to do so!
-- Anonymous, October 12, 2000
Go once a season , you only go once a season : - ))
-- Anonymous, October 12, 2000
Howay Gav man, you know I usually do make the effort :-)I'm on a bit of an economy drive too, what with driving up to Newcastle last weekend, birthday spends yesterday and out in London on Saturday...
Actually, I've just realised I'll be sending some scruffy ne'er do wells dahn to do some bird while at Harrow Crown Court on Monday and for the next two weeks!
Basically, I'll see how I feel on the day, but most likely I'm staying nearer hyem, pet.
Pewer, I know... ;-)
-- Anonymous, October 12, 2000
AND you can't say it's anything to do with the missus 'cos it's not so long ago that I made 3 games in 10 days :-)Susie B reckons Evergreens isn't up to much these days anyhow...
Have a good 'un
-- Anonymous, October 12, 2000
Yeah but was does Susie B know....she's a hermit these days!
-- Anonymous, October 12, 2000
Aye, she told me
-- Anonymous, October 12, 2000
Susie was in the Runhead in Ryton for the Ingerland game last Saturday.
-- Anonymous, October 12, 2000
Wow she made it out of her cave in deepest darkest fulham eh....someone else will tell me that she's been spotted recently soon, I won't believe it though!!You've all gone mad....seeing Susie and flying saucers everywhere...
-- Anonymous, October 12, 2000
exactly so hardly a judge on Evergreens .. anyway Gav i divvun mind looks like we could go anywhere cos no one wants to hang around with us anymore .. well have to find some new mates : - ((
-- Anonymous, October 12, 2000
Yup I'll bring some money along and we can buy some new friends....
-- Anonymous, October 12, 2000
I was thinking about coming to Evergreens on Monday night....
Might bring some of my work mates who are coming to the Everton game along with us as well. Are you both (Sting and Gav) both going up on the 21st - see if we can organise a pre and post match meet-up.....
-- Anonymous, October 12, 2000
"Yup I'll bring some money along and we can buy some new friends...."You'll need to bring a bicycle pump too for the sort of 'friends' you mean... ;-P
-- Anonymous, October 12, 2000
Weve got more money than that man .. i think he meant friends of a more dubious nature .. more dubious thatn youse that is ; - )
-- Anonymous, October 12, 2000
Hurrah for Scratchy!! see Sting, I told you that one of them was a decent bloke!!I'm going up for Everton.....are you and your mates making a weekend of it?
Bobby, thanks for the reminder....I'd almost forgotten the bicycle pump...
-- Anonymous, October 12, 2000
weekend of it?
we're getting the 11.30 train out of Kings Cross on Friday and coming back Monday. That's more than a weekend. One of the tw@ts is running 13 miles.
-- Anonymous, October 12, 2000
Ahh so I won't be travelling up with ya then :))As for where to meet in newcastle....I'll find out where I'm going and let you know....pre match it won't be the strawberry though cos I like to have a drink ;))
-- Anonymous, October 12, 2000
Watch it Scratchy I don't want to hear anyone bad mouthing anyone running 13.1 miles on Sunday 22nd October!
-- Anonymous, October 12, 2000
I say running with tongue firmly in cheek. Last year he thought he was doing ok until a bloke dressed as an orange past him.
He thinks the wall appears after the first 100 yeards.
hats of to ya DeB, living in Northampton, knowing Sillis and running 13.1 miles ;-). See you pre/post match on the Sat?
-- Anonymous, October 12, 2000
Scratchy,Sillis is part of my inspiration, you should see the size of the fat bar-steward. I'll post on here closer to the date re-meeting up. Plans are slightly hazy at the mo. another 10 mile run on Saturday though to give me the best possible chance of not getting passed by an orange.
My girlfriend's Dad did the London Marathon and couldn't keep with with that bloke dressed as a tree, how demoralising must that be.
-- Anonymous, October 12, 2000
Gav do not spend all your money buying mates, get a manure strip!
-- Anonymous, October 12, 2000
See you's in Evergreens on Monday. Gav, check your email.
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2000
Sue, Read it and replied.....I can't believe you're brave enough to say dirty things like that over an e-mail!! you've certainly gotten braver since the last time I slept with you.....
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2000
Sush Gav, don't spread it around!
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2000
Right we've now got Me(shithead), Sting, Scratchy and Susie....anymore people who's nicknames begin with "S" wanna join us? Alternately....does ANYONE ELSE AT ALL wanna join us???Come on Dan, I know you're lurking somewhere.....I'll throw in some braised gluton especially for you!!
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2000
Dougs...what are you up to on Monday night? if you and Dan come along then we could start off a little "D" corner(I could put the "Dingle" had on) to take on the power of the "S"'s......Hmmm Dread what you up to mate? ;))COME ON......It won't kill you all to make a little effort to get pissed :))
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2000
I'm bringing 5 people - 2 S's, 1 H, 2 P's. Can we get people along to supply the vowels and we can have a big game of Countdown.
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2000
Gav if only you would have posted this earlier, I could have joined you, (in a non biblical sense) in the "g" corner. However I am having my hair done. I would rather spend my valuable time with you than that Boor Lonly Tune!
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2000
Goddamn it, the "S"'s are gonna easily win it!!
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2000
Don't worry Gav, I won't be there nor will Softie or Screacher. And Swift NEVER turns up! ;-)
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2000
Thanks for the support Steph!! It would've been a disaster if all you guys had come down!!Mind you, I can't see any good reason why Swift can't turn up.....it's not that far for him at all these days!!
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2000
Er, who says Screacher won't turn up? Stranger things have happened.
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2000
Woo Hoo get your arse round Screach....you know you want to!! I don't care if you are an "S"!!
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2000
A bit too late for me to organise a meeting in the Smerk for Mon/Tues so I'm afraid it's gonna be me, a crate of beer and a couple of cats.
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2000
A couple of cats eh.....I've been trying to get two together for years now with no real success :((
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2000
Bunk beds?
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2000
