Recipe for making Rotel tomatoes (hopefully for tonight's dinner)

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

Guess the title says it all. Wife is making something she calls "Creamed Tacos" (it's great), but needs some rotel tomatoes and we live a little far from town to run in and get them. Can anyone help with a recipe for them? If so, please respond soon. Creamed Tacos just aren't the same without them. Thanks Brian

Rotel tomatoes are basically canned tomatoes and canned chopped green chilis. If you have a can of each, just mix them together (14 oz can of tomatoes, 3 1/2 oz can of chilis). Probably drain the chilis first as they are packed in a liquid of some sort. If you don't have the chilis, you're stuck going to town anyway. I know the problem. I am 25 miles from the grocery store and have gotten used to improvising too.

the spices they use are a little cumin, chili powder, salt and powdered garlic...
