You must become active in your local lay organization. Once you begin to involve yourself in the Organized Lay, you will learn the process on how to first become the electoral delegate from your local church. That is your first election you must win. Electoral delegates then go to their Annual Conference the year before General Conference and run against other Electoral Delegates. If they win, they become the delegate from their Annual Conference or they could serve as an alternate delegate. The process is very exciting.

Join your local lay organization and join us at the Lay Biennial in Jacksonville, Florida this July.

I agree that one must be active in their local church, but you do not have to be a member of the organized Lay Organization to be a delegate to the Annual Conference or the General Conference
