Madness takes its toll. Please have exact change.

Ok, I'll guess. Lars' famous N/T means "nothing there".

What do I win Lars?

-- (smarty@wannabe.one), October 11, 2000.

n/t often translates as no text, smarty. If it were al- d, I would say it referred to the New Testament.

-- Bingo1 (howe9@shentel.net), October 11, 2000.

Bingo:

N/T can stand for no text or not tested. What was written was NT. Which can stand for no text but is most commonly used to refer to an MS operating system [see list below]. EOM most commonly means end of message, while SLOW specifically refers to an aircraft type.

Acronym Definition NT New Technology (Microsoft Windows operating system) NT No Thanks NT National Trust (UK) NT Navigation Technology NT Net Tonnage NT Netherlands Antilles NT Network Technology NT Network Terminal/Terminator NT Neurologically Typical (autism-related) NT New Territories (Hong Kong) NT New Testament (Bible) NT New Tragedy NT Newfoundland Time NT Nit NT No Text NT No Tomorrow NT No Transmission NT No Trump (bridge) NT Nome Time (GMT-1100) NT Non Turbo

Rather ambiguous. No Text is generally what follows the End Of Message, but on the other hand, the NT operating system is SLOW SLOW SLOW.

-- Flint (flintc@mindspring.com), October 11, 2000.

(Jeez, this is a dense night for me.)

Nome (AK?) has its own time zone? Cool.

I think Flint got it, though; it's got to be NT is SLOW SLOW SLOW (spoken as one forced to use it in my office -- SP5 as we speak).

Ha, enigmatic posts generate fun responses. The NT just meant no-text. Greenspun won't post a thread that is blank; I had to enter something.

The subject SLOW, SLOW, SLOW was to express frustration at how slowly Usenet has been responding for me. Apparently no one else is having this problem. I checked at Bok's and folks said the forum was fine. So I guess the problems are at my end. It is between me and God. I trust He has a help-desk.

Lars:

Good attempt at cover but you can't fool us. That was a coded message. It dealt with a slow & low [as they are called] flying drone aircraft operated using Windows NT. Since FAST is an acronym referring to turbine technology in such aircraft and MOE refers to a MAD [Mutual Assured Destruction] strategy, I assume you, as an ex-engineer, are passing secrets to the Chinese. Gawd, I have to quit reading EZ board. :^)

Best wishes,,,

Oh. I thought you were wading through the New Testament.
