Just how many dogs do you have, anyway? And what are their breeds?

Al,

True, Christ accepted man's sins, BUT this doesn't preclude you sinning NOW and paying eternally for it.

For example, if I was to use your logic (I think, it's hard to tell with your illegible-religious typing style) I'd say, "I believe that Jesus took all of humanity's sins on Him, so all I have to do is believe and I'm saved." Would you agree with this?

If you do, then you really DON'T have to believe to be saved, because NOT believing would be a sin, and you CAN'T sin if Jesus took away all sin for all time. What sense would that make?

Therefore, I'd say you'd better concentrate on your behavior, and what YOU are responsible for, and not just on what's been done for you, as it makes more sense to assume that God will judge what you've done with your life in some way on Judgement day. Not saying you shouldn't be thankful, mind you, but...

I do agree though, that you can't EARN your salvation, who's saved and who isn't is ultimately God's decision.

I'd just think that when the day arrives, you'd be better off having spare oil for your lamp than assuming it will be handed to you.

HI FRANK, the apostle paul said,->[it is no longer I that live, but christ who is in me!!!] thisis why so many christians are decieved, they,re trying to be perfect in own strength--the old nature [adam] jesus SAID without him,we can,t do it!! oh we can get religious-perform-pretend-strive-be a hypocrite-do religious acts. but it,s just that---self striving!! the secret of TRUE CHRISTIANITY is SIMPLY->[CHRIST IN ME DOING IT] the new nature[born-again] not cleaning up the old nature [adam]

Why choose either Turn OR Burn, when you can Turn AND Burn at the same time?

(al - knock it off with the caps again, it's too much)

"TURN OR BURN". I figured this was a barbeque thread. Bait and switch!

Does the sun turn and burn, or just burn?

Al,

What I was referring to was:

Then 2 the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. 2 3 Five of them were foolish and five were wise. 3 The foolish ones, when taking their lamps, brought no oil with them, 4 but the wise brought flasks of oil with their lamps. 5 Since the bridegroom was long delayed, they all became drowsy and fell asleep. 6 At midnight, there was a cry, 'Behold, the bridegroom! Come out to meet him!' 7 Then all those virgins got up and trimmed their lamps. 8 The foolish ones said to the wise, 'Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.' 9 But the wise ones replied, 'No, for there may not be enough for us and you. Go instead to the merchants and buy some for yourselves.' 10 While they went off to buy it, the bridegroom came and those who were ready went into the wedding feast with him. Then the door was locked. 11 4 Afterwards the other virgins came and said, 'Lord, Lord, open the door for us!' 12 But he said in reply, 'Amen, I say to you, I do not know you.' 13 Therefore, stay awake, 5 for you know neither the day nor the hour.

There's a difference between TRYING to be ready for the day of judgement and being complacent about it, (at least that's what Jesus said).

Why do YOU think that the Lord wants you to do nothing with your life but recognize His sacrifice for you to be saved?
