I purchased a Canon EOS ix lite SLR APS. I've read and reread the owners manual several times. I cannot find any instructions on how to turn off the camera. Unfortunately, I purchased the camera from a WalMart, and there are no "experts" working there. Help?!

Every EOS I have seen has an "L" on the mode dial. My Elan IIe still displays the count if I have film in it, but nothing if it is empty. I don't think you can truly turn them off, just lock (L) them so they don't accidentally fire the shutter, etc.
