Actually the more you think about it the more it could make sense.

He knew he could'nt play for England against the Germans and the Finns cos he would have had this case in the same week and if the press got wind of it he would have had a nightmare on his hands.

You have to admit, it's not exactly implausible is it?

Can anyone think of 9 ex England footballers other than Gazza or "salt and vinegar" that it could be?

It's Barry Venison,

When I first heard of this story I first thought of Mick Martin, missed a couple of commentry sessions with Mick Lowes recently, could he have been sorting her out with a financial package. Then I thought of Super mac on the phone with his rough cockney accent - and I got this cold feeling, a feeling which made me think wor Super mac may be a phone pest, but then I read the papers............ And my detective career ended just as it began.....;)

Clues (from the daily mail):

The Guy was quoted as wearing a flash blue suit;

36 years old, (Rules out Beardsley, Old Big ears and Waddle this keeps in Vennison);

She told his mate Des Lynam of ITV;

My Suspect has to be Barry Venison. Shit if I'm wrong.

But god if I saw a woman with a long nose I would burn her alive, the witch!
