I have read reader comments that kid pictures are 'too easy' since, well, kids can be cute without even trying, and I am really trying to not keep posting pics of my kids, but that is about all I have in my collection. I promise to try and do better .

I'm not sure that kid pictures are that easy. The fact that they're always cute without even trying and that they generally make great subects for photography makes interesting and unique results that much more of a challenge. Yours, for example, is pretty good because I've never seen one like it and it's a pretty well crafted photograph, compositionally and technically. So if you find a subject that suits you, don't let anybody tell you "It's just an easy subject, that must be why you're getting great shots..." !

Don't tell Sally Mann or Mary Ellen Mark that kid pictures are easy. Make more, get weird, kids are barely in their bodies and partially in a different world and this picture gives us a hint of that duality. Good kid pictures are hard to make, and full of possible interpretations. See Jeff's and mine (on this site) for some oddball kid stuff... t

Thanks Tom... ;) Yes, kid pictures are easy - they4re so easy it4s hard to make one that isn4t JUST cute (sorry, I don4t know the code for italics), but I think you succeeded.
