WinOnCD Photo VCD is pretty straight forward for creating decent Photo CD from JPEG. I use 704 x 480 stills jpeg format. I also write disc at once and not track at once. Seems to alleviate some DVD player compatibility issues.

The 550D is picky about media. It only reads CD-RW. Also I created 20 Photo VCDs, all identical, 10 using the same CD-RW brand and 10 using same CD-R brand. 3 out of 10 CD-RW would not play on the Sony 550D DVD player. The Sony 530D likes CD-R and 10 out of 10 worked. Also tried it on a newer panasonic with the CD-RW and 10 out of 10 worked.

The panasonic played the 3 CD-RW the Sony 550D said were no good. Sony 550D refused them no matter what. If you have a Sony and you create a photo VCD and it won't play, try a different disk.....

I can't find WinOnCD....Where did you fnd yours? Most players will play CD-RW but very few play CD-R the Pioneer is the best for playing both
