Romanian officials offered ref 'female company'

Uefa have suspended two Romanian officials for one year after it was revealed that they offered a referee "female company" prior to an Intertoto Cup match earlier this season.

The president of FC Ceahlaul Piatra Neamt, Gheorghe Stefan, and Florin Chivulete, an official on Uefa's list who was acting as a local referee's liaison officer, were given the ban following the incident which occurred ahead of the home leg of the third-round tie with Austria Vienna in July.

The duo will not be allowed to carry out any function in Uefa matters for 12 months after they had offered French referee Stephane Moulin and his fellow officials "female company" ahead of the game which ended 2-2.

Perhaps they should have checked the ref's "leaning" before offering female company. I heard that all sort go on now the Iron Curtain has come down. I think the sequinned shorts and low-cut blouse shirt should have given the game away.

What happens if she's a female ref?

Or, as they have in the Italian cup matches, 2 refs per game.

Or a transylvanian trans-sexual?

Discuss.
