I'm not a funny guy. Self-portrait.
Apologies to Mike D., in advance.

No apology needed. Besides, you've never looked better. : )Actually, in the context of this presentation, I'd say it is a rather funny photo (in a macabre way). This sort of photo (carefully staged shot of something that would be gruesome if unstaged) always runs the risk of appearing too self-conscious and overwrought. Right now, I can't help but thinking, "Jeff really shouldn't take the Philosophy of Photgraphy forum so seriously. . ."

OOOOH! You play the piano!? I4m not really going to go into a deeper analysis of this shot, because I would probably be seeing things that aren4t there, but it4s cool.

Jeff, did you post this for a critique or is it meant as a statement? I otta post the one (as a response) that I posted before when you posted this (or something like it) before on another forum! :-) Honestly and respectfully, the photo bothers me, but that may be the purpose, in which case, it works -- so it is successful.

By any standards, this is a disturbing image. If it is a serious attempt to portray the self destruction associated with manic depression, then it is a fair statement, I suppose. If not, then it is really some kind of detritus which should be ignored, as people should not delve into such things that they may not understand.
