WIRE:10/06/2000 02:40:00 ET Sydney train derails, 10 suffer minor injuries SYDNEY, Oct 6 (Reuters) - A Sydney commuter train was derailed on Friday injuring 10 people and trapping some 40 as three of the train"s carriages toppled on their sides, emergency officials said. All those trapped were later freed and the 10 people had been taken to hospital with minor injuries, they said. "Fortunately it"s not quite as bad as it looks," said ambulance spokeswoman Caroline Hancock. "People don"t appear to be too seriously injured, thankfully." The train derailed at about 3.00 p.m. (0400 GMT) at Kingsgrove in the city"s south. Initial access to the toppled carriages was hampered by live power lines. City Rail spokesman Michael Stanley said it was too early to speculate on the cause of the accident.
