Anyone know Brisbane well ?.. ive been there meself 2 years ago to see England win the cricket at the Gabba in the triseries , and we spent the night in a hotel in central Brisbane and had a night in Surfers paradise ( like Blackpool but hot and full of Aussies ) ... Anyways we're planning a long weekend there , me and me brother that is , for the British Lions match v the Aussies ... what i need to know is where is the BEST hotel in the area .. Brissie or the Gold coast ? Its a bit of a no expense spared trip , so anyone ideas and some good restaraunts too .. must admit this request is for me bro , as i couldnt give a monkeys where i stop . 1967 Sting, fings gotta have changed, Brisbane was pretty dour, 1 week, 2 weeks on the Gold Coast, me and my buddy watched everyone head for Surfers and then pulled the usual move, opposite direction to Coolangatta, bliddy brilliant, cheap booze and surroundings at the R.S.L., bunked with a Geordie couple who ran a coffee shop., took over the Cabbage Patch Bar when I persuaded my group of travelling players to mosey on over, the locals were still hooked on Frank Ilfield I reckon, Walking the Dog and Satisfaction and we had the place jumping. The Outer Limits had hit the Gold Coast. For a bit of the rough and the real OZ I took a shine to Townsville, on the bevvy with construction workers. Hope that helps you Sting, I doubt!!!!!!!

The best hotels are in Surfers, But depending on where the game is it will be a 2 hour trip to Brisbane if the match is there.
