I don't know whetehr it's made the news in the UK but there was a major earthquake in Japan today 7.3 on the richter, just 10 kn below surface. thank fully it was out in the country and so there only appears to be about 23 peopl injured. Now had that happened here, in Tokyo, well I shudder to think. No doubt I'll sleep well tonight....

I just saw a headline "Earthquake in Japn" and thought about you - glad you're OK!

Yep - it was reported here this morning. I`d be a nervous wreck if I lived there! We visited the Earthquake Centre in SanFransico a few years ago, where I duly purchased a torch, and spent the rest of the holiday going to bed at night with a pair of shoes, a torch, and a bottle of water in the bed with me! Well, you can`t say I didn`t follow their advice!!!!(:o) Pleased to hear you missed this one though.

As I've said before I'm pretty blaze about earthquakes but when the big one hits here, I know that there is nothing I'll be able to do about it. As the Japanese would say 'shougunai' which roughly means there's nothing you can do about it, having said all that, I'm sure I'll still fill my pants!

>> "I shudder to think" ... ho ho ho!

Japan is due a big one isn't it? Usually every 40 years and it's overdue.

Best of luck mate.

Tokyo is due, wait for it this will crack you all up .....at least two, there are a number of plates that surround the Tokyo area and they all go off intermittently. As luck would have it, all there cycles are due at the same time within 10 years of each other, betwenn 1995 and 2005. See I knew you'd all find that funny,

now what's the phone number for British Airways?

"well I shudder to think." and, "this will crack you all up" and "I'm pretty blaze (blasi?)", great choice of words Kegsy, hang in there mate!

Has the Singapore, "foot, hand, mouth" disease news reached the U.K. yet, several young children have died and lots have been hospitalised?

My missus owns several child-care centres; they've been closed BUT some adults have contracted the disease :-((

Hope everything is okay Bud :(

BTW folks it's nice to feel worried about, I've no idea how my parents would have felt when they heard the news about Japan, I bet their heart sank for a moment. I've also discovered that it was actually stronger than the one in Kobe 5 years ago when over 6,000 people died.
