I am an extremely funny guy. Really.

Are you saying it's a self-portrait?

Well, in a sense, they're -all- self portraits. : )

But no, that's not me in the picture.

It4s a good catch :) The woman seems to be looking at whatever is the source of the hilarity, so I can4t really believe that the photographer just told a great joke :) I don4t think I4ve ever seen a situation quite like this in any photo before. Usually people will not let themselves go in front of a camera like that, but this is candid I suppose, and very well done.

The subjects are friends of mine. The guy and I were exchanging friendly insults, and I managed to fire off the one that resulted in their uncontrollable laughter. So I do get much of the credit.

Oh ooops! So much for my keen eye. Could we have a summary please :)

Yes, I don't think I've ever seen such a moment like this captured before. Neat. I like looking at this image. You all were having fun and the photo reveals this well. You seem to have two styles of photography: posed/fashion/model style and candid. I like all of your work, though. Do you fuss at all with trying to be one "type" of photographer or do you just do what feels right?

Christel, if you're asking for a summary of our verbal abuses, I'm afraid you're out of luck. We abuse each other so much, it's really not possible to remember the specifics of this occasion. Besides, we were pretty wasted. . .

Tony, thanks! I usually just do what feels right. If you looked through everything I shoot, you'd probably find more "types." Of course, I think about the feeling or mood I want to express in a photo (and some of those moods are more or less characteristic of certain types), but when shooting I don't usually think about trying to make an image that fits a specific type--that's something I sort out later.

"when shooting I don't usually think about trying to make an image that fits a specific type--that's something I sort out later"... right on! You seem to be capable of recognizing opportunity and being unafraid to react. The genius is in the edit... t

It's nice that you caught the moment, but I could really do without the ugly door and exit sign, both listing to the right. The waiter (?) growing out of the man's head is irritating, as is the framing on the left chopping of the man's elbow. Perhaps a judicious crop would be in order?
