Passenger Cars

Dave Randall's book on P-S cars shows a plan for a baggage dormitory shell under lot 6983 Plan 20055 built in April 1957. This was ostensibly to replace baggage dorm car 100 which was badly damaged in the Dillon wreck. Yet, reviewing the diagram books, it show that car 100 was apparently rebuilt. So-did ACL just keep this car shell? Anyone knows what happened here?

I have seen a small print of this odd duck in a private collection and wondered when I first saw it whether my eyes were playing tricks. It resembles one of the P-S ex-C&O kitchen dorms in general appearance and window spacing. Strangely, the diagram books make no mention of the replacement shell, but the car did exist on ACL - at least for a while. We need additional in-service photos if anybody has such.
