Need help in setting up internet Bible College

greenspun.com : LUSENET : The Christian Church : One Thread

Are any of you brothers interested in setting up a Bible College on the internet? One whereby students could get solid, Bible, spiritual training via the internet? There are a group of concerned men who would like to see this done. The denominations and cults are using the net to teach propaganda and false doctrines. Why not get some sound, Bible trained, dedicated, loving, gracious teachers to tell the truth on the net? Why not make it possible for students to stay at home, instead of traveling cross country to go to Bible College? Why not make it so they don't have all the added expenses that they have in moving to another city, etc. to study the Word seriously, in preparation for ministry? Also, the fact that the internet reaches around the world, so easily!! Are you interested?

I got an email yesterday about Simple Bible College. this doesn't rely on the Internet though. It involves getting a group of people to read through the old Testament every day and meet once a week for a discussion of the New Testament. Of course it helps to have someone who understands the Bible to join in the discussion. during the discussion, people take turns reading. At any time anyone can join in and comment onthe scriptures and discuss them. It is a very simple method of Bible study, and can be used in countries where the only book resource is the Bible. One copy could be passed around for the discussion.

I know that isn't exactly what you are talking about, but this is probably much simpler than what you have in mind.

Bob, I agreed with where you are coming from, and it is about time we took it seriously. The Consortium for distant education made up of some of our Bible colleges has a small footprint of ideas toward this. I am concerned that it is too little and too slow in starting. I created a web page partly due to this subject and hope to do more on it. The area we live in is 6 hours from Florida Christian College and about 5 or 6 from Atlanta Christian. Our recruits have a long hall to get to school. A few of us have talked about opening our local christian camp up for education, but it is just talk so far. Keep in touch. I have been running the Internet Bible College now for over 2 years to reach exactly the kind of people you refer to.

We are a comservative pentacostal group associated with Vision International University (USA) and Vision Christian Colleges (Australia). Our purpose is the development of sound bible based, evangelical Biblec colleges which work in association with local churches.

We not only have the University campus in the USA, College campus in Australia, but also over 1,000 local church based colleges, in over 100 countries and we teach over 45,000 students through our collective ministry.
