Ok I'll start with Jim Smith, no I mean Robbo, No I'll stick with Jim smith Sacked from Derby in about 3 games time to be replaced by someone charasmatic, such as El Tel, no hang on change that to Jim Smoth gets sacked days before Robbo. Venables goes to BORO and Joe Kinnear becomes the new Derby boss.

Alex Ferguson must be a bit worried. They lost yesterday.

Derby have actually had major patience with Jim Smith. He did get them promoted but he has had money to spend and seems to struggle year in, year out. He has to be a contender. Unless something happens quick at WHL, I can see Graham going soon. Mainly cos the fans like him as much as we liked TSM, if not less. Robbo isn't popular and has spent money like water but Steve Gibsion adores him. Walter Smith seems to be struggling but again, Everton seem to like him. John Gregory ain't popular either... In truth, it's hard to pick a single one.... Maybe Barca or somewhere'll come in for Wenger, making him an offer he can't refuse and there'll be a managerial merry go round.

Howay Dougal, be decisive....

-- Anonymous, October 02, 2000

Right then. I'll go for George Graham.

-- Anonymous, October 02, 2000

Harry Redknapp will be next to go. The board will force him to sell Rio to Leeds and he'll kick up a fuss they'll see theyre 3rd from bottom and hell be ooot

-- Anonymous, October 02, 2000

Gordon Strachan (sp?) Coventry City will be the next to go.

-- Anonymous, October 02, 2000

Bryan Robson - no doubt.

with Vialli to take over....

-- Anonymous, October 02, 2000

Lippi - ex Juve and now ex-Inter is free from today.

-- Anonymous, October 03, 2000

If Boro are gonna get shot of Robbo.....I hope it's after the 16th.....how many teams sack their manager and then rally to win their next couple of games.....alright I know we didn't but most teams do....

I'll move down and across the country a little bit and go for John Gregory at Villa.......if he doesn't get sacked he has lost the plot of life so badly that he will be taken away in a back to front jacket!

Monkey Heed.

-- Anonymous, October 03, 2000

Tough one this. I don't think any are currently in line for the chop. A couple may resign but that's not what you're asking.

If I have to go for one I'll pick Monkey Heed.

-- Anonymous, October 03, 2000

The Makems are certainly down on Monkey's Heed at the moment...

-- Anonymous, October 03, 2000

Outside of the Premiership and the first to go overall will be Platt. In the Premiership.....I'd go for Graham. The fans are continually on his back. Robson, Strachan and Monkey Heed have too much support from their chairmen to be vulnerable.

Prmmph...Prmmph

that's me blowing my own trumpet after predicting Vialli's sacking before the Newcastle game, if Chelsea failed to win.

Next manager is not easy to predict - but if results don't improve, Bryan Robson will get the chop. Won't be till the New Year though. In fact I don't think anyone will get the chop until the new year.

George Graham

The fans are currently clubbing together to arrange for a hit man. Until on of them pointed out that a number of them would volunteer to bunk him off free of charge. Hell some would even pay for the privilege :o)

Prmmph...Prmmph

The mind boggles, wondering where you had your trumpet windy. :-))

-- Anonymous, October 03, 2000

I doubt Bryan Robson will go. If your Chairman keeps you on after the debacle of Ravanelli et al, going down to Div 1 and trouble with Merson then he's basically got a job for life.

The Talking Chimp won't budge either, unless things go badly wrong between now and New Year (fingers crossed).

Gregory's been everyone's 'next man' for so long it's clear Ellis is keeping him.

I reckon Jim Smith is a fair bet (no wins so far, btm of table) with Graham an outside chance (spent loads, gets beat lots, big name players and fans unhappy).

Hahaha. I always cringe when I see my handle (so to speak)...which I only started to use to stay a bit more anonymous. Fat lot of good if your e-mail address shows your real name anyway. Ho hum.

-- Anonymous, October 03, 2000

Windy,

Get yourself a windy@thegallowgate.com address!

-- Anonymous, October 03, 2000

Not really bothered about revealing my real name anymore, Steph, as it's a password protected BBS. I was probably being paranoid anyway...........I do quite like the gallowgate address though ;-)

-- Anonymous, October 03, 2000

So Windy.... I assume the 20 is your age?

-- Anonymous, October 03, 2000

Re Bryan Robson, I agree, Bobby, that he's had worse times, and in general he's had excellent support from the board. I just think that come the New Year that support might start wearing thin. He's had years now to create something, and no shortage of cash. It wouldn't be a knee jerk sacking, just a final recognition that he's not going to be the person to take the club any further.

Jim Smith...perhaps...but I reckon he'll have a bit more time to pull things around. Graham similarly, although Sugar is unpredictable. Having said that i don't think Sugar sees success on the field as the most important criteria. Mid table would do him as long as they were ok financially, and Graham should keep them from relegation.

So Windy.... I assume the 20 is your age?

No..it's nearer my IQ than my age;-) Probably.

windy@thegallowgate.com

From what I hear, it's even windier@kingstonpark.com

-- Anonymous, October 03, 2000

Prrrrmp prrrmp..I also predicted Vialla's departure, unfortunately it happened even sooner than I'd expected - ie b4 I'd had a chance to put any money on it.

Jim Smith looks the likeliest to go next - though keep an eye on Walter Smith. Everton's season is in danger of going tits up after he spent a lot in the summer...

-- Anonymous, October 03, 2000

I reckon it will be Gav, although he did manage to beat SWMC, I think it may be "too little too late"

Dunx, Hiro and McBeth will be looking over their collective shoulders as well after being relegated.

-- Anonymous, October 03, 2000

Thanx for the vote of confidence Gus! actually my board are quite happy with my performance....started badly and then went on a holiday and results took a turn for the better, they've offered me an wage increase to stay away next season.....

-- Anonymous, October 03, 2000

I recognised the position the team were in and decided that it was best to get relegated and come back stronger in the future

-- Anonymous, October 03, 2000

If things go tits up on Saturday and next Wednesday.....how about it being KK?

-- Anonymous, October 03, 2000

actually my board are quite happy with my performance

which is a euphemism for "Actually i'm happy but they are quite bored with my performance." ;0)
