This is a good portrait (although the scan could use some spotting) with nicely balanced tones and excellent composition, but it raises more questions for me than the other one. These questions also exist for my own photography in Mexico. Are these children trying to make a living being photographed by Americans, and are we creating cultural conflict by doing so? Why do Americans love photos of brown children in other countries but resent having them in their own neighborhood? I don't have any great insight, but these questions are there, and this photo helps make us think about them.
