Need help with flask mpeg and pluggins

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

i started to play around with this and if i have flask just do a normal avi out it works fine, but to save time the pluggins are much better. So i dl'ed the bbmpeg and tried that and everytime it gets to 1% with bbmpeg i get the "this sytem has performed an illegal operation screen". So is their any other pluggins made for flask (maybe panasonic or tmpeg). Can anyone help me out? thanks--\ Also the reason why i dont just take what flask makes and instal it somewhere else is becvasue of the ac3 souns. I can convert itto wave using sound forge soft but the wave file then tends to be shorter then what im doing (after it converets from ac3) so my stuff will be out of sync

Answers

you can use panasonic encoder plugin for adobe premiere 5.x or lsx-mpeg for adobe premiere.

follow the link for installation instructions: http://www.citeweb.com/flaskmpeg/docs/readme.html

lsx plugin requires adobe premiere, panasonic plugin does not.

thanks for the info, i was able to find the newest version of the panasonic encoder along with it's pluggin. this worked great and using flask is awesome. However if anyone reads this, i noticed a flaskmpeg dccess (or something like that) unoffical program. Is this version made not to pick up macrovision?? thanks

Doug,

The unofficial FlaskMpeg DeSCC is made to rip DVD and convert straight from the DVD rom drive. It's an all-in-one package deal; However, if you continue to do that, then you can kiss your DVD rom good bye after a few rounds ;)..I thought capture is your thing, why start with ripping????

well ripping isnt a full fledged thing for me. I was just curious about it and wanted to seeif their was a way that doesnt involve 12 thousand steps like i have4 seen on a few sites. Also i own some PAl dvds (im in the US with ntsc) and althought the PC playsa them fine as well as the apex ad600 a being able to convert the signal, i did not want to kepp on bringing out the machine to watch them, and its more gfun to make a video cd then to put it on tape. So i did a test on one and it converted quite nicley to ntsc format. Also it is much quicker this way then running only some in at a time, then encoding then joining (and hoping that the sound sync doesnt go out after editing and joining)
