Rachel,

I have sent a response via e-mail regarding "The Raven" that I had provided another student from the forum earlier. Unfortunately, I do not know which "To Helen" you are referring, the first or second poem. The first was written around 1831 and was written in remembrance of Ms. Jane Stith Craig Stanard, Poe's first idealistic love and it celebrates Poe's love of beauty. The second was written in 1848 for Ms. Sarah Helen Power Whitman, a widow and poetess from Providence, Rhode Island.

Regards,
