-- Anonymous, September 30, 2000
Hiya guys! I've got the connection alright, but the quality is a bit dodgy. Oh great, Metro is carrying on about our bad record at Maine Rd. Time to put that one to rest lads! cmon!!As for the Revs fanzine, Stevo. I've not heard of one before now. Not sure what's behind the name.
-- Anonymous, September 30, 2000
Early corner to defend.Come on lads. Give us something to cheer about.
-- Anonymous, September 30, 2000
Anyone else having problems with the webcast?! Man City's webcast is at http://playlist.broadcast.com/makeplaylist.asp?id=608584 but I don't exactly fancy listening that.

-- Anonymous, September 30, 2000
webcast fine now over here. Just sat down after attempting to entice my cat out with my cooked breakfast. The smell at least got him to stick his head out of the hole, unfortunately he dug in too hard when I tried to grab him and drag him out. :-/
-- Anonymous, September 30, 2000
Dang...thought I might have a new superstition. Shearer shot saved. Had it gone in, my cat would find himself tossed behind the cabinets every week ;-)
-- Anonymous, September 30, 2000
cheers rob.TOMMY WRIGHT....aarrrrgh.
glad to hear the cat's safe, Ciara...obviously knew there was a match on...; )
-- Anonymous, September 30, 2000
I've got a ladbrokes lucky 15 running on first goal scorers. Lua-Lua, Ginola, Viduka, Joe Cole. They are all still alive so far.
-- Anonymous, September 30, 2000
Gallacher lashing out at someone? What's going on? He usually seems like one of the calmer players
-- Anonymous, September 30, 2000
Lua-Lua? I hope we score before we bring him on...!
-- Anonymous, September 30, 2000
Whats going on indeed. Getting neither the Toon nor the City webcast here. very frustrating, especially as i've a bottle of broon ale to toast our first goal. HOWAY THE LADS.
-- Anonymous, September 30, 2000
Lua-Lua.Yeah I know but I thought he would start. Joe Cole has scored so I'll get my money back whatever happens now!
-- Anonymous, September 30, 2000
Bloody Tommy Wright is going to have a blinder of course!
-- Anonymous, September 30, 2000
Can only get Man City broadcast - and they seem to think they are being hard done by the ref! Shame! Speed`s just had a shot on target.BTW afternoon all!(:o)
-- Anonymous, September 30, 2000
Speed!Tommy Wright again...one handed...jeez
-- Anonymous, September 30, 2000
Frantic stuff. Speed kept out by a Tommy Wright super-save and Gallacher has just cleared off the line at a corner...gasp!
-- Anonymous, September 30, 2000
Gallacher saved a goal on the line from a corner...hi Gal..
-- Anonymous, September 30, 2000
hi softie - got the stotties? ; )
-- Anonymous, September 30, 2000
OOOOOOOOOOOohhhhhhhhhhhhh.Very close.
-- Anonymous, September 30, 2000
Tommy Wright`s having a good game! (:o|
-- Anonymous, September 30, 2000
Oh don`t Min - I could murder a bacon stottie!(:oP
-- Anonymous, September 30, 2000
What are they saying on the MCFC webcast cos it sounds like we've had the better play but we've both had good chances...?
-- Anonymous, September 30, 2000
Free headers, they're luvverly, get 'em while they're hot. Arse.
-- Anonymous, September 30, 2000
It`s quite funny actually - one of the commentating double act has been going berserk about City`s missed chances. He`s very critical of the home team (apart from the goalie!) Oh, and all the decisions are going our way apparently!(:o)
-- Anonymous, September 30, 2000
not good for my nerves - how many times will they let teams have free headers before they learn....?
-- Anonymous, September 30, 2000
So reading between the lines - it's pretty even but we've had more possession and the best of the chances....check your mail, Gal
-- Anonymous, September 30, 2000
Jay are you still listening to the Man City broadcast? It`s a hoot! (:o)
-- Anonymous, September 30, 2000
Griffin booked - shades of tino ?
-- Anonymous, September 30, 2000
Errrrr yes well its different nice to hear someone getting carried away about his team. Shame its not ours he is talking about
-- Anonymous, September 30, 2000
H/t 0-0Off to the fridge for a beer and a pickled onion sandwich.
Yum!
-- Anonymous, September 30, 2000
Min - yep - sounds pretty even though we`ve probably had the best chances.Jay - he takes it very seriously doesn`t he! Teehee!!(:o)
Half time - wonder if I`ve got enough time to get some stotties in? (:o)
-- Anonymous, September 30, 2000
more coffee for me - it's 4am....hmmm...stotties - not quick, but at least you can prepare for the next match!
ahh..an advert for the new Morrisons in Killingworth - i'm homesick!
-- Anonymous, September 30, 2000
I'm late - the bloody water main came apart in the middle of the night. Had to get up and switch the water off so I slept in. The missus (can't call someone from Leicester wor lass) will have to wait for her coffee till the games over.
-- Anonymous, September 30, 2000
Caldwell on, Griffin off. Charvet to RB and Caldwell to CB
-- Anonymous, September 30, 2000
Aftenoon all, still can't get the metro webcast so it's Gary the Gimp for another 45 minutes.Caldwell on for Griffin!!!! Go on lad!
Seem to have player pretty well first half, just need Shearer to open the account now.
-- Anonymous, September 30, 2000
Hello Sounder..I lost my webcast - i'm presuming Lua-Lua is on...not sure for who though....
-- Anonymous, September 30, 2000
Half Time Telly Report.Ok, so I slept in a bit and missed the first ten minutes. Overall i was pretty impressed with the way we spread the ball around confidently and IMHO we should have gone in at least two, if not three up. No, we didn't miss "easy" chances but Tommy Wright played out of his skin. Three absolutely superb saves from Shearer, Speed and Dyer, saves that most othe keepers would not have made. We are no doubt in control of this match. Given - Solid. A couple of very good saves and is kicking well. Griffin, playing well, getting up a bit. Didn't deserve the yellow. Charvet. Playing very well. Hughes. A little nervous at times but Hughes is Hughes - Reliable. Domi. Awesome first half. best i can remember him playing. Lee - Has a grip on the midfield. Working his rear end off. Speed. Playing very well, a few balls off target though Dyer. Finally coming out of his shell Gallagher. Always busy. Shearer - Welcome Back Alan, Playing very well. Kets - Cordone. As Usual
Just heard Griffin is out, one of the Caldwells is in at the half.
Howay the lads.
-- Anonymous, September 30, 2000
oops - take it back. Go on young-un!
-- Anonymous, September 30, 2000
No Lua-Lua..........yet
-- Anonymous, September 30, 2000
Hi folks. So - dominated first half but no goals...hmm, sounds familiar...don't think I need to tell you what's going to happen, do I?
There's no way we're going to win this match.*
:@(
*please let me be wrong, please let me be wrong...
-- Anonymous, September 30, 2000
Thanks for the report Pete. I'm just pleased they are playing well. This team seem to have a lot to learn about playing together.
-- Anonymous, September 30, 2000
Dan.......behave!
-- Anonymous, September 30, 2000
Thanks for the "eyewitness" report, Pete! At least if we're playing well that's something. Still need some goals though! C'mon lads!!Hey Min, I forgot you were headed down under. How are things with you. Spreading the stottie faith in Kiwi-land? ;-)
-- Anonymous, September 30, 2000
Good opportunities going wasted. Aagghh!!
-- Anonymous, September 30, 2000
I agree! despite free headers....TOON! TOON!......
-- Anonymous, September 30, 2000
Very well Ciara - thanks can't get my head or heart around not being able to use that season ticket - how's the move going?
-- Anonymous, September 30, 2000
HAWAY THE LADS
-- Anonymous, September 30, 2000
Yeah, but Min, how many times does it have to happen? Blah blah blah, City pushing forward more in this half, blah blah, defensive mix-up, Weah nips in, 1-0, blah blah, Newcastle not looking as good as in the first, blah blah.(I would have predicted Wanchope to score, but he's in my fantasy team so I won't even get the consolation of him scoring...do you think I'm being a bit defeatist?)
-- Anonymous, September 30, 2000
I WENT TO BLAYDON RACES, TWAS ON THE 9TH JUNE....
-- Anonymous, September 30, 2000
Oh man.....help me folks, I'm beginning to have a bad feeling about the outcome of this one. :-o

My pessimism's infectious, Ciara :@()
-- Anonymous, September 30, 2000
Haway - Lua Lua is coming on. THis is the week he's going to make his first big impact.
-- Anonymous, September 30, 2000
you? defeatist? naww...!no, i know what you're saying and it's frightening that we allow these free headers - but look at the back four - young and not massively experienced. Given should know better though and should be screaming at them....
I've still got that blind faith that we'll be fine though....unfortunately that's exactly what it is - BLIND FAITH
-- Anonymous, September 30, 2000
WE TOOK THE BUS FROM BALMBRA'S AND SHE WAS HEAVY-LADEN...
-- Anonymous, September 30, 2000
Don't mention the war move, Min. I'm trying to keep my blood pressure just under the boiling point at least until they show up(if they do). ;-)Know what you mean about the ST. Did you get to use yours at all before you left? Looks like first time for me will be Boxing Day now. Can't wait!!

WE WENT PAST ARMSTRONG'S FACTORY AND PAST THE ROBIN ADAIR
-- Anonymous, September 30, 2000
Stolen from Sky Sports site.3 mins: City have got the best start. Haaland was up for a corner and he hit a left-foot screamer just past the post. 12 - City are strong at the back with Ricthie and Prior strong. They are frustrating Newcastle and playing the early ball forward to Wanchope. Dickov is hard to pick up and it looks an exciting game. 17 - Close for Newcastle. Cordone wide on the left, crossed right- footed and Shearer got up and should have scored with his head but it was straight at Wright. 27 - Newcastle are knocking the ball around beautifully. Dyer is roaming all over and is difficult to hold. Wanchope and Weah are getting lots of long balls for City but cannot create any chances. 29 - Great save from Wright after a Newcastle corner. Speed had a tremendous power header well saved. Then at the other end Gallacher cleared off the line after Weah chested goalwards. 32 - Dyer just through with Wright to beat but the goalkeeper sprung back to save the chip. 43 - They haven't scored, Newcastle, and haven't had any luck either. Two minutes ago Wanchope wasted a free header so it worries me for Bobby Robson that Newcastle have not scored. HT 0-0
47 - How many more chances can Newcastle create. A significant change in the second half for City with Kennedy on as a sub on the left, but still Newcastle are running the show. 60 - Dont think I've ever seen a game with so many chances not taken. It isn't half exciting!
-- Anonymous, September 30, 2000
Week after week we make Keepers look good, about time we started embarrasing a few. Other teams make them look pretty ordinary.
-- Anonymous, September 30, 2000
Agh! Man City webcast connection lost...
-- Anonymous, September 30, 2000
Great shot by Lua Lua but saved by Wright (who is haveing a blinder - typical!)

-- Anonymous, September 30, 2000
FANTASTIC!
-- Anonymous, September 30, 2000
Thank fuck for that!!!!! I'm just off down to Metro Radio to beat the crap out of those fate-tempting idiots. 20 minutes of discussing the tables and referring to it as a "result".....Jesus! I've used a month's worth of adrenalin at least. Bastards! Phew!
-- Anonymous, September 30, 2000
I've been distracted by reading Clarky's Somme posting, which is really good reading. Makes me realise I've missed something - I've been in Belgium for 15 years. Anyway reading that and listening to Metro has made it a good afternoon. Looks like Solano has atoned for a few poor performances recently, Lomano sounds good, and now Shearer's off the mark, I think we're going to be alright.
-- Anonymous, September 30, 2000
Phew!! AND we're featured on MOTD so have beaten that jinx!
-- Anonymous, September 30, 2000
So long all! Great morning.
-- Anonymous, September 30, 2000
Excellent stuff!!!Interesting listening to the opposing team commentary (after all the niggles about Shearer not scoring) he still seems to be the one player that the opposition fear most.
Thanks for the company folks - and the receipe Min! (;o)
-- Anonymous, September 30, 2000
aye - take care all - same again in a couple of weeks.....?"Newcastle, Newcastle, Newcastle...."
-- Anonymous, September 30, 2000
3rd place, Shearer scores - things are looking up! ;-)))
-- Anonymous, September 30, 2000
If we're the featured match onMOTD then Fox Net should have a good amount of highlights here tomorrow! Think I'll save those 2 Broons to drink while watching them. :-)Now I'm off to pray the movers from hell actually turn up this afternoon and haven't stolen or broken any of my stuff. fun fun! See ya's later!
-- Anonymous, September 30, 2000
Good luck! Hope the cat appears again.....have fun....
-- Anonymous, September 30, 2000
Halle-bloody-lujah!! Three priceless points AND a clean sheet.
Just hope the injuries to Griffin and Dyer aren't serious. Two weeks 'r&r' now for the walking wounded which should see the return of Goma, Marcelino, and Bassedas, with Warren B. apparently also making good progress.
Good to see young Caldwell getting a spell today alongside Aaron Hughes, and a pretty successful one at that.
Finally, just thrilled to bits for our centre-forward.
-- Anonymous, September 30, 2000
Hopefully Dyer is hurt just enough to miss the Ingerlund game and can concentrate on improving his performances for us. How much good would Dyer get out of 20 mins at right fullback anyway?
-- Anonymous, September 30, 2000
Got to agree Softie. In fact, when I think about it, Dyer has done bugger all since that super debut for England at La Stade de Merde.
Wonder if he has a Welsh great grandmother by any chance!
-- Anonymous, September 30, 2000
