Does anyone know if the socket aligns in the center or to one side of the BP300 like the one on the BP50 of the ElanII? I have checked both Canon's website and the brochure of the Elan7 but couldn't find the answer. Thanks.

The BP-300 tripod socket is an off-center tripod mount.
