Well Jay and the rest of you I got a new job yesterday - European Support Manager. It's in Frankfurt working for an American company who do the software to allow mobiles to connect to the internet for processing financial transactions. I'm moving in November with the family to follow asap (i.e. when we sell the house). In fact I'm flying to Frankfurt next Monday 'til Wednesday then flying to Zurich 'til Friday and I'm off in three weeks to Austin, Texas for a week - Not a bad first month!

I might get to see one or two of you in Aussie Land too as we have quarterly meetings alternating between Frankfurt, Texas and Sidney.

The BBS is going to become even more important to us than ever - Oh Well, I always wanted to be an ex-pat!

If anyone has lived around the Frankfurt Area (Actually Friedichsdorf) let me know, I could do with some information.

It's one small step for man, one giant leap..... :o))

Austin, Tx is one of my favourite place in the States. Have you been there before?

Congratulations Pilgrim. Blimey. Hope it brings you lots of happiness. I'm sure we can sort you out with tickets and what-have-you for any visits that coincidentally coincide with NUFC fixtures. Brave fellow. How's your German?

Geordie,

I've never been to the states before!

This week is supposed to be a "fun week" for me to get to know the guys over there. Now my boss interviewed me wearing cowboy boots and my equivalent in Austin has a ranch and 40 horses and does rodeos (he rang me last night to welcome me). Drawing my own conclusion I'm convinced they're setting me up to stick me on a mean old mustang!

So tell me about Austin Geordie.

Softie,

just a few words, but you know the Americans - "If they can't say it in English it's not worth saying!" (No offence Ciara - it's a quote from my new boss)

Still I've got the books and tapes and I'm looking forward to getting stuck into it.

By the way I have to recruit 15 staff, probably from England. Anyone want a job???

Austin used to be OK, but it went downhill since they merged with Morris and became The British Motor Company........ Oh, I see, not that Austin?

Pilgrim - you'll be missed. Where will I cycle to now for a few bevvies? Frankfurt's a bliddy long way! However much you'll be missed, you won;t be forgotten. I just heard that any Jornam entries will be barred from forthcoming Corinthian's League matches. Tough mate!

PS. Sorry I couldn't make it last night - a combination of a late departure from work and a panic to fill in my tax form before the month-end deadline!

Cheers Screach!

You seem to do that much travelling we'll probably keep bumping into each other in airports!

Any word on tickets for City?

Frankfurt's a bliddy long way.......and I thought it was a bliddy long sausage!

Well done Pilgrim.......are you now the official contact for the Toon matches in Germany in the Champions League next season then?

Good luck. Don't know much about Frankfurt, although I'm fairly well acquainted with a seedy trading estate on the outskirts, and the nearby Ibis hotel....;-)

Thanks All! I'll probably get to Newcastle more from Frankfurt than I do from Cheshire. I mean when I don't live in England the ONLY place to visit will be the North East. No reason to come back to Cheshire.

Josh, I'll answer that fully next week after my first trip. Basically I'm recruiting Tier 1 & Tier 2 support (possibly Tier 3) + Team Leaders.

By the way if any of you ex-pats can tell me how to take advantage of the tax situation I'd be very grateful! :o))

Congrats Pilgrim. Big change eh ? Make sure you give us a shout when you're planning on being in Sydney town so we can introduce you to the cold fizzy stuff that passes for ale down here.

Tschuss !

Well done Pilgrim, I used to live in Frankfurt, Sachsenhausen's the place to party, stay away from the main station (Hauptbanhof) / Kaiser Strasse area!

Next week, I have to go to Colombo, Sri Lanka (for 3 months) - any of you been there? It's alleged to be an "Island Paradise", apart from in the Tamil controlled north that is!

Well that`s just typical Pilgrim, just start getting to know Mrs. P, and you whisk her off to foreign climes! Hope you have your priorities sorted and that getting your PC up an running is at the top of your list. Please tell Mrs. P that there will always be someone around happy to indulge in some non-footie chat.

And BTW good for you - a big move, but how exciting! Dead envious of your trip to the States too - and I look forward to hearing your impressions.(:o)
