I half-inched this off Tattlesquawk for you. Nice to know we're appreciated, well in certain quarters at least.

Pars boss Jimmy Calderwood confirmed last night he tried to get Newcastle United to East End Park for a friendly next month. But instead, HE'S HAD TO SETTLE for a game against Dutch side Feyenoord. Calderwood said: "We were looking to fix up a game for our supporters and the players because we have got a bit of a run away from home in the next couple of months. "My first choice would have been Newcastle because they are reasonably close and would have brought a big support through with them. "That would have been very interesting for our fans, but Newcastle had a lot of options open to them. Everton didn't want a game, but Feyenoord said they were available, and they're a great side with good players." Dunfermline will pay the Dutch side to come to Fife, and hope the supporters at the cut-price admission of just #5 will be tempted to come along in numbers.
