Which F-unit models are best?greenspun.com : LUSENET : ACL and SAL Railroads Historical Society : One Thread
I am going to model F2's through F9's for the ACL. Currently there are F-unit models (shells as well as complete units) available from Intermountain, Highliners, Stewart, and Athearn Genesis. Any opinions as to which of these models are the most detailed and accurate? I would appreciate any help on this question since I've been unable to actually see these models. Thanks. --Jim Smith, Greenville, NC

Concerning the ACL F-units in HO, I would strongly suggest that you join PROTOTYPEmodeler@egroups.com. It is free, of course, and they have recently discussed this very subject as it relates to ACL. Once are are a "member" you can access the MESSAGES page of the archives and read all past information, as well as receive all the current chat. Jim Six in particular has done some incredible ACL models, and he loves to share his secrets!

This is kinda off-topic but i just noticed on ebay that someone is selling a lionel Seaboard SD-9... I find this disturbing because the SAL (or ACL) never had and SD-9's... i thought most model railroad models were somewhat true to life, but it dont seem so in this case...
