What I'm saying we have spent freely for a few years now, and got no better, do we really want to chance sign players like the spanish man/woman with a broken nail for 5 million? Is rush buying, rushing player turnover like what KD and RG done really the way? I personaly dont think so. I dont want players to come at the click of Bobbies fingers.

Look what happened with Silvio 'Smiler' Maric because gullit wanted with out 100% researching - he didn't even interview and meet the man to see if he wanted to wear black n' white.

I want to go back to the days when Keegan and co would never trust vidio tapes, where they would all watch a player for months or a year(Shaka Hislop) before judging his talent. And even that was not enough, they had to want to wear black n' white. Really filtering out the grime from the diamonds.

What do you lot think:

Do we rush buy and trust wor Bobby? (remember we trusted Ruud and Kenny - although Bobby has a proven track record you could say)

Or do we stay meticulous and focused saving heaps off money for a later date(making and giving NUFC and even stronger power in the transfer market long term- the Newton heath and arsenal way), trying to slowly climb to were NUFC belongs - the top?

Answers

I'd hardly put YBR in the same bracket as his two predecessors. He' a manager from the old school. Besides, the transfer market is still changing. Currently (IHMO) players have too much power. Even in KK's days, the first team squad was smaller than we have today.

If you look at YBR's buys, all except Gallacher have been young 'uns with a number of years ahead of them. We know why he bought KG. It will be interesting to see what he does for the short term with a CB.

Tony, He has just got to do enough to keep everyone happy, its the timescale and his judgement that are so important, Harper/Given (still young), Griffin/Domi, Caldwells, Gavilan, Cordone, Lua,Denis, Coppy, Amoeibi,Dyer, if we can bring 5/6 thro , were in , the knack is when, and will they be good enough, and to keep them happy meantime, Thats what Bobby is employed for, can the new wave of supporters be as patient as previous, I doubt it.
