It's all a flashback to the Dalglish era. The Toon sign an excellent prospect for the future and the first team are playing shite! Thankfully Bobby's in charge.

Newcastle United have pounced to bring one of Portugal's most promising teenagers to Tyneside.

Manager Bobby Robson has returned to former club FC Porto to snap up 18-year-old Pedro Dimas on a free transfer from under the noses of rivals Benfica and Sporting Lisbon.

The 6' 1" left-sided player has played six times for his country's Under-18s and is thought to be a real prospect for the future.

Dimas can play anywhere down the left-hand side, an area where United are relatively thin in terms of experienced performers.

The club has been looking at the player for several months, and although he is seen as a prospect for the future, early reports suggest that he could eventually be more than capable of making the step up to first-team level.
