The credits said his name was Matthew Watkins. I don't think he has been in anything else. I don't think he is deaf.

I don't know if he is deaf or not either, but it would be hard to film scenes with a hearing child. I have one that age and it is impossible to keep him quiet, so I don't how they would do that. I hope they continue to have good storylines with Peter and Reese. I just hope that they don't make him grow up too fast and next season he's like five or something! LOL!

I think he's deaf. There has to be a reason they chose to only have one kid play Reese. Little kids are almost always portrayed by twins or triplets. They most likely chose Matthew because he was actually deaf.

One of the reasons twins or triplets are chosen to play roles is there are rules about how many hours a child can work. In this case, he's on for such short times and so seldom, I doubt that would be much of a concern.

Yes, I'm aware of why twins are used. They most definitely would have preferred twins to play Reese. The scenes he's in may seem short, but they can take a while to film and get right. They had 6-7 babies on set at once to play Kate and Tess. Granted babies that age are only allowed to work 20 minutes a da

Lisa, don't know where you get your info but I'll bet you're right. I have extensive education in sign lang/deaf ed and that child reacts like he is deaf esp in chaotic scenes. Thanks for confirming it have always wondered. I like the storyline, myself.

Speaking of switching child actors who grow up on the show What happened to the actor who played Rachel? This new Rachel is quite an insufferable teenager....Moreover, about Matthew Watkins -- I found absolutely nothing for him (IMDB). Does anybody know where some info, can be found about him?
