WE OFFERED #2,000 SETTLEMENT FIGURE ON #12,000, THEY REFUSED, WHAT DO I DO?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Repossession : One Thread

Mortgage shortfall with Halifax of #12,000 approx, been paying for first 12 months #10.00 per month & then next 12 months #15.00. Through a Solicitor I sent an income & expenditure which stated that I couldn't afford any more money but offered them #2,000 (a gift from my sister due to the stress being caused by this to me), as a full & final settlement figure. They refused both and are looking for more money a month or a bigger settlement figure. Read the article in the Mail on Sunday, and really feel like telling my Solicitor that because Direct Legal & Collections (debt collectors) have refused both to tell them to stuff it and they get nothing. Is this the thing to do? Please help.
