Reasons to be cheerful

OK, enough of the bitching from me (well, for a few minutes anyway). Was Lua Lua's performance yesterday just a flash in the pan or has the lad got tallent? Let me compare and contrast him and "The New Ketsbaia (my Lord)". Cordone started off well and brought us movement. He was also unknown to the whole of the EPL and was able to capitalise on this.

However (you knew this was coming) he is yet to be a teamplayer. He's a selfish player (not bad in a striker) but he has to learn that when there are others in a better position then you have to pass the ball to them. You also have to be less flash and be more accurate witth your psasing. However, he's young and he's shown enough promise to be a useful player - and I bet he's not on a whacking big salary either.

By all accounts, Lua Lua isn't a team player either. He's only been playing football for a few years and hasn't yet got the balance between his individual flair and setting up his team mates. Well, you could have fooled me. He made a couple of exquisite defence-splitting passes yesterday, the like of which had been missing from the entire side prior to his introduction.

Now, I'm not saying that one or other of these is the answer to our problems. But they have a combined age of under 45 (I'm guessing) and given good tutorage from YBR and his staff, they should both play a significant part in NUFC's (good) fortunes in the years to come. It's a shame LL is cuptied for the Orient match - I think it would have been great for him to play in the side against Orient, getting hin ready for Saturday. Now YBR has to decide whether to play hinm from the start on Saturday given that he can't play on Tuesday.

I thought Wadworth converted him from a left winger, to a Striker, but seeing him yesterday he was playing with his right foot.wasn't he?

BTW anyone see the headline "Layabout Lua Lua was a total Loser" in a well know tabloid paper this morning?
