What happened to the TREE? I think most of us who have ever taken a walk around the lower path of Inspiration Lake know what tree I am referring to. Does anyone know why the tree that was hanging over the lake was cut down? And who was responsible? It was a special favorite of our family. It was an excellent photo and R&R spot.I know it is a questions many of my friends and neighbors would like to have answered.

Nannette: It appears that the tree was vandalized by persons unknown using an axe & the City finished it off with a chainsaw. This is a terrible tragedy because I share your great loss of the wonderful location in Kentlands. Let's hope parents teach their children love and respect for proerty and esp. of trees.

I called the City Public Works and was told that they assumed "some kids hacked away at it," it was in such bad shape it had to be completely cut so it wouldn't be a hazard. I put something to this effect in the Town Crier and also asks anyone with information to contact the city police. Elly
