What's the hold up ?

Why no official announcement yet? Have I missed it or has Lua Lua still not signed ? Seems to be dragging on a bit to me.

He apparently trained with the lads this morning... There has been no announcement to the Stock Exchange yet, though...

From the Journel:

>>>Meanwhile, Lua Lua trained with his new team-mates for the first time after finally completing his protracted move from Colchester yesterday and Robson must now decide whether to cap a busy week for the African by including him in the squad to face Charlton. Lua Lua has signed a five-year deal and Robson will now go to work on a talented player he has promised to treat with kid gloves.

Thankyou ladies. Now I'll have to find something else to worry about. :-))

He's obviously a crock already.

Betcha he's paraded around SJP before the game to chants of "Lua, Lua" in the fashion of "Shearer, Shearer".

That's a LOT of money for a kid....I was kinda hoping that it had been over inflated by the press but if Reuters reckon it's 2.25 then it must be :((

Surely that has to be TOO MUCH?

??????????

If this is in installments, would it have said so?

It says "fee amounting to". The ColU fans are sure it's 730,000 uo front and the rest according to appearances.... Gav, you're right - this is the statement that the club made to the London Stock Exchange so it has to be right.

2 million is wee buns these days ;-) especially for a player who is a young+skillful striker with teams like West Ham, Spurs+Rangers taking interest.

Slightly concerned that Colchester originally didnt want to keep him as he was too raw a couple of years ago. Look wat happened to Ian Wright+the munchkin though.

Newcastle boss Bobby Robson unveiled new #2.25million signing Lomana Tresor Lua Lua - and vowed to keep him on Tyneside for 15 years.

The 19-year-old Colchester striker finally completed his move on Friday morning when he signed a five-year contract, and goes straight into the squad for Saturday's Premiership clash with Charlton Athletic at St James' Park.....................
