Nick at Nite shows

The folks at Nick at Nite have put you in charge of one time slot. Which show would you remove, and which show would you add?

Well Nickelodeon in Australia has since stopped playing Nick At Nite, so I doubt I could remember everything they played. All I ever watched was That Girl and Mary Tyler Moore, though. They were on at 2 in the morning, which was when I got home from work. Umm.. none of the other shows particularly interested me, I'm not very fond of 60's television. I would have KILLED to have had I Love Lucy on Nick At Nite. Lucy is on TV1 and usually played at 5 in the morning. 5, my ass!

I dont know if it was Nick at Nite, but I just got through watching a Facts of Life Marathon. It aired from 8 to midnight I think, and showed a bunch of shows starting from the beginning years with Molly Ringwold, and then when they started Edna's Edibles, and then when George Clooney joined the crew and they opened the Over Our Heads store when Edna's Edibles burned down. I dont know if they every showed the last shows or not.

Okay, I've had a little time on my hands the last three weeks... sue me.

Yes! I watched the marathon the entire week and missed the last day or two because of Eric... ack! The things I do.

I don't know if Andy Griffith is still on, but I'd definetly take his ass off the entire line up and make sure it NEVER got back on, then I would add Welcome Back, Kotter because I really miss that show.

I would definitely get rid of The Brady Bunch, which has to be one of THE most annoying television shows of all time, and add something cool, like Mork and Mindy!

I love the Facts of Life. Good show, except I'll get the theme song stuck in my head for days at a time.

-- Anonymous, September 21, 2000

I was so excited that "The Facts of Life" would be back on the air. But when I finally tuned in, it was that lamesass period (which probably lasted two episodes) when Blair bought the failing school and had a love affair with the lone male instructor who stayed....

The best Nick at Nite show is the Mary Tyler Moore show. Then, the Dick Van Dyke show. MTM is awesome, plus a great fashion/political role model. What else can you ask for???

The shows I hate the most are the Andy Griffith show and Green Acres.

Call me weird, but I FLIPPED over Labor Day weekend's A-Team marathon.

-- Anonymous, September 21, 2000

All I have to say is: Bring back the fucking Monkees.

-- Anonymous, September 22, 2000

Bring back The Monkees!

-- Anonymous, September 22, 2000

The Monkees? Are you kidding me???

-- Anonymous, September 22, 2000

Last year, Nick at Nite showed The Wonder Years at 5:30 every morning. That just happened to be my breakfast time, and it was a very nice way to start my day. Unfortunately, they decided to change their schedule and ruin my mornings. Grrrr.

-- Anonymous, September 22, 2000

I'd put The Facts of Life, The Monkees, Three's Company and Punky Brewster .

-- Anonymous, September 22, 2000

The Monkees rule! I vote for Monkees. I don't think I'd remove anything else though, I love all the shows on Nick at Nite.

-- Anonymous, September 22, 2000

Punky Brewster is the ultimate:) Can you believe I just recently (during the marathon) discovered the facts of life? Poor pathetic deprived me, lol!

-- Anonymous, September 23, 2000

good bye brady bunch, hello get smart.

-- Anonymous, September 23, 2000

I miss Mr. Ed, F-Troop, and Get Smart.

-- Anonymous, September 23, 2000

I don't know what I'd get rid of, but I'd definetly add the Monkees. They used to be on all the time when I was a kid. That show rocked...

-- Anonymous, September 23, 2000

I would add Dragnet and take off the freakin Brady Bunch. I agree with whoever said thats the most annoying show ever.

-- Anonymous, September 24, 2000

I was just screaming at Nick at Nite last night as a matter of fact. They got rid of the greats like The Dick Van Dyke Show and Bewitched and made it impossible for me to watch The Wonder Years. The worst part is that they replaced it with shows I hated even when I was younger like Andy Griffith, Three's Company, and The Facts of Life. They've ruined my ability to fall asleep peacefully so I've moved on to TVLand. (They suck too but at least they had a Dick Van Dyke marathon last weekend.)

-- Anonymous, September 25, 2000

It doesn't matter which one I'd get rid of cuz I don't really like any of their shows at night except the wonder years but I'd probably add "Hey, Dude" cuz I watched it a lot when I was younger and It'd be cool to see it again. =)

Keep Brady Bunch-get rid of Gilligans Island

-- Anonymous, November 26, 2000

I would delete andy Grifith and add All In the Family at 9:00 because some people who have college have to go to bed before 11:30!!! Plus Andy Grifith has been on since the fifties. Enough allready!!!!

-- Anonymous, November 26, 2000

I'll put on The Facts of Life, I Love the show. especially when Jo (Nancy Mckeon)comes on. I'll get rid of is Three's company, Gilligan's Island and Beverly Hillbillies.

-- Anonymous, January 07, 2001

I really want Facts of Life off so badly because when I change it on Nick-at-nite it's always Facts of Life this, Facts of Life that.So instead of putting Facts of Life at 10:00 put Taxi in it's place and please stop putting Taxi on at about 5:00AM because I use to stay up at 5:30 to watch Taxi.(That is how much I love Taxi.)

-- Anonymous, March 06, 2001

keep Facts Of Life on @ 10:00 pm. if not put it on @ 9:00 to 10:00pm. put on two epasodes. please. i love the facts of life. i know the theme song off by heart.

-- Anonymous, April 18, 2001

i would put on more fact of life. i would take off Taxi. do you people agree? i like older show more than new shows. do you?

-- Anonymous, April 18, 2001

-- Anonymous, April 19, 2001

Get Smart's got my vote....how about Man from U.N.C.L.E.....The Time Tunnel....My Favorite Martian...and just for kicks....Rocky & Bullwinkle.....the list goes on & on....

Great. Another old Digital Ink thread randomly resurrected by the search engines. Check out the results: http://google.yahoo.com/bin/query?p=%2bnick+% 2bat+%2bnite&b=21&hc=&hs= (#34 at Yahoo)

Even more scary is what happens when you click on the "More results from greenspun.com" link. 4 of the 7 links point to these boards! Methinks Yahoo (or Google, or whomever) doth love Katie a little too much. First Miss Cleo, now Nick at Nite. Where does it end?

ooooooooooooooookkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk tim!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

-- Anonymous, June 07, 2001

Nick at Nite is fine the way it is, but why did they take "Bewitched" off? A classic among classics if you asked me. And when they did the eighties marathon, why didn't they add shows like "Gimme a Break!" or "Webster" or something? Those were two great shows that somewhat personified the 80's. If there was one show to take off, It should be "All in the Family" because it comes on TVLAND regularly. Not that it's a bad show or anything. I hear they are going to add "Cheers", "Family Ties" (another classic sitcom they should have added in the 80's marathon), and the classic of classics "The Cosby Show". I think that Nick at Nite should have added "Julia" on its schedule also. I could gripe all day long but time is precious.

Note to Ms. zeon_pa@hotmail.com: You can take your condescending little "ooooooooooooooookkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk tim!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" and shove it. If you were a regular here, you would notice that old threads tend to pop up out of nowhere featuring inane commentary by people who can't type and/or spell and generally have the IQ of a rock. Late April/early May saw a number of these occurences [including the Miss Cleo Thread That Refuses To Die(tm)] and the only logical explanation was that the search engines had found this site and were indexing every little thing. The comments I made about this phenomenon in this and one or two other discussions were a public service to those who were wondering where the hell this old stuff was coming from. Quite frankly, I wouldn't be surprised if Google/Yahoo was still directing the unwashed masses to these forums. If so, expect an occasional dredging from time to time.

And my apologies to Harvey, whose insightful observation I just stepped over. Well done, Harvey.

To: Nick At Nite,

My name is Justin Waller. I wish they will put Punky Brewster on Nick-At-Nite, because that is my favorite show, I've watched it ever since I was 2 years old in the the 1980's. She is very funny, and I love her and her friends, and the rest of the cast members. I wish with all of my heart that they will please put Punky Brewstwer on Nick-At-Nite.It will make me very happy to watch her again. From, Justin B. Waller
