Following other teams

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

A few bbsers have admitted to following the results of Leyton O.
Everybody has some other team for which they have a soft spot.
I , apart from the natural ones of Carlisle and Berwick etc., always look out for Blackpool (sibce Alan Suddick went there) and Bournemouth (after their brilliant efforts to form a community team - and my daughter watches them).

I follow the results of the mackems and hope that they have lost.

Seriously though, my mate is a fan of Morecambe Town and I have been to a couple of their matches so I guess that is the closest I am to following another team. BTW, my mate is also a NH fan, when they are doing well, but he's not a bad person!!

I don't look out for LO's results since they sacked wor Frank.

Berwick is an obvious one... Northumbrians in JockoLand.
One of my mates at work is an ardent Chesterfield fan and it kind of rubs off. I look out for their results but I don't get upset if they lose.

De Builder....you've got a mate who supports Morecombe Town and who also follows NH....

Hmmm could it be LR (otherwise known as the Morecombe Bomber....) ;))

Oh no it can't be....LR doesn't follow Morecombe town...haha ;))

Bollox Gav..I went to Cheltenham "away" 3 years ago. :-)

BTW..It's The Morecambe Battery :-)

Lads, Lads it's the Morecambe mutants judging by the state of most of their supporters. Something coming out of the nuke pen at Barrow perhaps? Hey LR weren't you.........I'm not going to take this any further! :-)

Always keep an eye out for Kingstonian in the Conference for two reasons:

1. Used to live there, and me mam still does

2. They play against St**anage Boro' twice a year

I have to admit to enjoy watching Conference football. Not usually because of the standar of the football but because you get such an interesting mix of players and abilities.

Teams like Rushden & Diamonds (Just down the road from me) are messing it up really and the sooner they go to Div 3 the better.

For instance Morecambe have two young centre backs wo are being touted as the new Lawrenson(Hardly an endorsement in our eyes I know) and Hansen.

They have a lad who plays on the right wing called Ricoglioslo or something and he's an ex Liverpool youth player who played in the Youth Team final against West Ham when they won it, must have played alongside Gerrard, Own and against Joe Cole etc.

Highlight of the last match, apart from one Morecambe fan losing his voice after ten minutes with some obscene shouting, was when their keeper was about to take a goal kick and my mate whispers "Felcher". No affect on the kick but a fair chant!

New York Yankees - current World Baseball Champions (well THEIR World anyway!)

Isn't baseball in the Olympics now? Apart from Cuba, are there any serious playing countries in the world?

Daft...almost as daft as a beach voleyball gold medal...gold watch more like...

I'd rather see Womens Beach Volleyball in the Olympic as opposed to Womens Weightlifting

Japan and some of the Central American countries play baseball, Bobby.

as well as Japan, who almost beat the US, Holland and Australia are playing in the olympics and others, but baseball is painful to watch.
