Converting .mpg to .dat

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

I apologize if this has been asked before. I want to take a movie clip from an enhanced CD (.mpg) and play it in my Panasonic DVD/VCD player. I can't seem to get it to work. Anybody know how to make it happen? Thanks.

Present Panasonic DVD players are not optimized for CD-R/CD-RW media playback. You have to be aware of this even before you attempt to make your first VCD. Sell/change/ditch that Panasonic first to a Philips or Pioneer if you are serious about this.

nearley all the panasonic dvd players play vcd's but only from cdrw not cdr i have the panasonic a120 and can play my rips fine, the only cdrw disk that it recognises is a rich 74 r disk and it must be spotless. pluss if u encode your mpeg with the panasonic mpeg plug in for adobe and flask and use that progressive option it will freeze up the vid u r watching.
