Hey, listen when an author uses such details as Poe does in this piece of writing, the setting, etc. will create itself. THe theme of the story is detha, but i also believe that it is change. Because death is sometimes used as a symbol of change. When he describes the clock, tec. it sets the mood, a scary, and almost depressing mood. And he chooses to do that for a reason
