Was the poem 'Eulalie, A Song' ever set to music? If so, was it ever printed or has it been recorded? Where can it be found?

Ana,

I have attempted a web search to determine if this poem had ever been set to music and have been unsuccessful. However, I did find that Stephen Foster did write a song, a rather sad one, with the title "Eulalie". The words of the song are in contrast to the intention of Poe's poem which Poe intended, according to Edward H O'Neill, as a tribute to his wife, Virginia and a celebration of married love.

Although I cannot say for sure, Foster may have been exposed to this work of Poe and would have been in his twenties when Poe died in 1849. "Eulalie - A Song" was first published in the "American Review" in July of 1845.

I regret that I could not have been more definitive.

Regards,
