does anyone know where i can find a web site that shows me the awards that Poe won for his writing? i really need to know where to go and look i have to do this research for an English paper. please contact me if you know anything.

you might want to see if there is a newberry award site. i'm pretty sure he got one. i did a report on him in sixth grade. i don't remember exactly. hope you find something, though. good luck! ^_~

You may find some relevant information on the Edgar Allan Poe Society of Baltimore site at: http://www.eapoe.org I'm afraid you will find that any awards celebrating Poe's work would have been awarded posthumously with the exception of two stories for which he won a monetary award. The stories were "The Gold Bug" and "Ms Found in a Bottle." The Newberry Medal is awarded for contributions to children's literature and I believe started in the 1920s, quite some time after his death in 1849.
