Continental grounds flights after computer glitch

HOUSTON (Reuters) - Continental Airlines was forced to ground about 300 to 400 flights Tuesday afternoon,
following a failure in some of its critical
computer equipment that helps coordinate and
track all of the airline's flights, the
company said.

. . .

The delays were the result of a ``burned out
component and electrical switch'' in the computer
equipment that helps run the airline's ``system
operations coordination center'' located at
the company's headquarters in Houston.
